We have been working on lots of fine motor activities like, their pincer grasp, picking up balls or beans with tongs, playing play-doh, playing the operation game, building blocks, practicing zippers and buttons on their clothing and much more! All of these are essential to begin writing their names and tracing! Did you know that developing an efficient pincer grasp is key to building hand strength and dexterity needed for handwriting and manipulating objects?

We have also been hard at work on letter recognition and letter sounds! Love hearing them working on their letter sounds while playing with their friends!

This post has taken me a week to post. One of the hardest parts of my job is saying goodbye. Most of the time it is “I’ll see you later” as they usually go to a school near by so I can still see them. Last Thursday was Bryleigh’s last day here at Kiki’s Corner Daycare. She will be moving a couple hours away to a new home and off to Kindergarten.
Every daycare child I take care of, I care for them like they are one of my own children. Bryleigh has been with me since she was 18 months old, now 5! When she came to Kiki’s Corner Daycare she wasn’t walking or talking. I was able to help her learn both of those very quickly and so much more. This job is so much more to me than a job. I love the relationships I make with them and the amazing feeling of knowing I have successfully equipped them for Kindergarten, and the big world ahead of them! Most important thing I taught them was to follow Jesus! Thank you to Bryleigh’s parents for trusting me with your little girl, and thank you for sharing her with me for so many years! Last Thursday her friends and I had a day all about Bryleigh! She wanted a pajama day and taco salad for lunch! We had a fun last day with her! Praying God guides her and her family in their move, and the coming days ahead!
