Fall S***t registration is now open! If your son or daughter has not previously registered the school code is cas919. This is open to all Caro Community Schools students grades 6th - 12th. The cost is $35 to register. At this point students/parents will be providing their own shells until we can find a sponsorship. There is a hard deadline for signing up of September 7th. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me.

The results are in!!!

After a six-day wait, the final standings are official! The top s***t athletes from across the country—representing states from Alaska to Florida and North Dakota to Texas—competed in this year’s Scholastic Nationals in Ohio. A total of 1,488 student-athletes, ranging from 6th graders to college seniors, shot eight rounds of s***t.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that the Tuscola County Clay Crushers finished 4th place in the JV Division. (The JV designation was based on this being our first year competing in the Scholastic program, not on skill level.) that’s out of 113 teams represented.

Individual Results:

* Zoe Montei (9th grade) shot an outstanding 189/200, earning 5th place in the JV Women’s Division. Even more impressive, her score ranked ahead of more than half of the college women’s competitors.
* Gary Kunse (11th grade) shot an impressive 194/200, finishing 11th out of 188 of the nation’s top JV shooters.
* Landen Montei (11th grade) shot a strong 182/200, earning 78th place.

Congratulations to all of our athletes on an incredible season and a fantastic performance on the national stage. We’re proud of every one of you! Hopefully next year our Scholastic team will grow!

We would like to give a big shout out to Tylar Sattleburg the only Caro shooter that went to Nationals in Mason for the USA Clay Target League Championship in trap. He shot a 90/100 Great Job!!! Tyler was shooting amongst some of the best high school shooters in the United States and performed well.

Your Caro Community Schools s***t team did amazing today at states!!!!

Caro came home with 1st place in our conference, 1st (Gary Kunse), 2nd (Landen Montei) and 3rd place (Luke Joslyn) males in our conference. 1st place female (Zoe Montei) in conference.

The Caro team also took 2nd place varsity at states. Zoe Montei earned the top varsity Female at states in S***t!!

Wyatt Heckroth placed 10th in the novice category at states. Addison Gilberg was 4th in JV female.

Practice today is canceled due to weather

We will be having practice tonight and next Tuesday to get ready for the Michigan High School Clay Target League states. Saturday the 20th will be the last official event for the team this spring. We will be starting back up in September for fall S***t. If you are wanting to keep your edge and grow as an athlete for next year, I would highly recommend shooting Thursdays and/or Sundays at the gun club during open public times. Top athletes in all sports keep training during the off season.

We had a great first year shooting scholastic! Since it was our 1st year in the program, our kids shot JV class. Today we ended up taking home 1st in JV S***t! In July, the three athletes that competed both days at states will be traveling to Ohio to complete at Nationals!
