🚀🌎 Special Delivery from NASA! 🌟👩‍🚀

Last month, Dr. Bowers’ Earth Science students wrote some amazing letters to NASA astronauts, and last week, they received a very special surprise in the mail! 📬💌

Each student received a picture of the Artemis II crew, and NASA even sent us a few extra pictures to display in our classroom!

The excitement on the students’ faces were priceless! There’s nothing quite like seeing science come to life and watching students realize their letters reached beyond our classroom! 🪐✨

A huge THANK YOU to NASA for making this such a memorable experience for our young scientists! ❤️🚀

Big news for the Cubs! 📚

Mrs. Wise was awarded a $5,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to launch a brand-new audio literacy initiative in the FCMS media center! 🎉

With these funds, our school library will be adding an exciting new variety of Playaway and Wonderbook physical audiobooks to help all students listen, read along, and fall in love with reading. This screen-free technology is specifically designed to help build reading confidence, expand vocabulary, and support our diverse learners in a fun, low-barrier way. As an avid audiobook reader and lover herself, Mrs. Wise can't wait to see these high-interest titles in our students' hand. Stay tuned as we roll out these fantastic new resources in the media center! ✨👏

🌿Exciting things are growing at Franklin County Middle School 🌱

We are thrilled to announce that our Agricultural Literacy & Community Seed Library Initiative, submitted by Mrs. Wise, was selected for a $1,000 Bright Ideas Grant through Hart EMC!

This grant will allow us to create a student-centered seed library where middle schoolers can check out seeds, build care guides, and practice hands-on biology and sustainability. Plus, we’re stocking the shelves with new, highly requested books on farming, fishing, hunting, and outdoorsmanship to boost reading engagement!

Thank you to Hart EMC for bringing this vision to life for our students! 🌾📚

Reminder: Tomorrow is fall picture retake day!

If you missed the original picture day, please make sure you come to the gym when your name/grade/etc. is called.

If you previously got your picture taken and would like a retake tomorrow, you must bring in your original photo packet. The retakes will act like an exchange of products with Strawbridge. (You must bring the original packet - no exceptions will be made)

Franklin County Schools will be closed for Fall Break from October 5th–9th, 2026. October 12th is a Student Holiday with Professional Learning for designated staff only. We look forward to seeing all of our students back October 13th.
