8/21/26 Carnegie High School Student of the Week: Mylah Ricker

Mylah is a Senior here at CHS. She is the daughter of Tiauna and Sara Ricker, and the older sister of Warrior, King, and Dalylah. Mylah is an active member of the CHS Softball and Basketball teams. Her favorite CHS teacher is Mrs. Kinder, and her favorite class is her Criminal Justice course at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center. Mylah really enjoys doing Jujitsu and working out as she completes her Criminal Justice requirements.Mylah has two cats, Gary and Kit-Kat. Recently, Mylah has been able to push herself to do things that are out of her comfort zone, and for that, she is proud of herself! After graduation in the Spring, Mylah plans to join the Military. Following her service, she plans to become a cop and eventually work her way up to being a detective.

Mylah was nominated for this honor by a CHS staff member because of her positive outlook in all that she does. Mylah shows unmatched dedication and perseverance. No matter the situation in front of her, she approaches it with grace by giving it all of her effort and continuously moving forward. Mylah shows great leadership and Wildcat Pride on and off the field. She was awarded a certificate of recognition as well as a pop and snack.

STORY TIME! 📚 CES First Graders enjoy a good book while reviewing literary elements with Ms. Keri Mace at the elementary library! Our AWESOME School Librarian, Ms. Mace offers a wide variety of fun learning opportunities for our Wildcats throughout the school year. 📕

🏎️💨 VROOM VROOM! Our 8th graders are putting physics into the fast lane! 🏁📊

Eighth graders in Mrs. Kori Turney’s Science class stepped into the driver’s seat of physics! Using ramps and toy monster trucks, they conducted a hands-on investigation to track, time, and calculate average speed.

Active Investigation: Testing variables with ramps. Data Collection: Clocking seconds with precision. Math Application: Calculating final speeds.

We love seeing our students apply classroom concepts to real-world objects! 📸👇

Mrs Kaila Kinder’s CHS ELA classes were treated to a guided tour of the Kiowa Tribal Museum. The group learned about the Kiowa Creation story from Museum Curator, Rainy Attocknie who happens to be a CHS Alum! The Kiowa Education Agency, represented by school liaison, Ms. Miah Miller, who is also a Carnegie Alum, gifted each student with a goody bag. The students enjoyed learning more about the history shared alongside the beautiful murals that tell the stories as well. Special thanks to Mr. Abe Lopez, Mrs. Miranda Lopez, and Mrs. Hope Worthington for attending the trip as sponsors.
