Hello San Juan Unified families! Join us at our Back to School Resource fair this Friday to get ready for a smooth start to the new school year! This family event is designed to help students and families head into the school year feeling prepared, confident, and supported. While supplies last, families can access items such as free backpacks, school supplies, emergency food boxes, free diapers, fresh produce and more! There will also be a resource fair to help connect families to district and local organizations offering helpful services and resources. Pre-registration for this event is not required, but supplies are distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Our United for Learning World Cup family event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Ralph Richardson Center, 4848 Cottage Way, Carmichael. Join us to watch a World Cup match on the big screen while exploring fun math, literacy, and art activities, back-to-school resources, and informational booths featuring district departments. The event will also include family-friendly outdoor games, soccer drills, a sensory room, raffle prize opportunities, and free snacks. There will also be translation assistance available. No registration is required. We hope to see you there for an afternoon of learning, connection, and soccer family fun! 🤩

Hello, San Juan Unified families! We hope your summer is going well! Are you looking for some FUN and FREE family activities? Join us for Family Fun Friday at Sacramento Bar Park (3936 Pennsylvania Ave, Fair Oaks) TOMORROW, Friday, June 26, from 10 am to 12 noon! 🎉

Held in partnership with Sierra Nevada Journeys, this fun event brings families together through nature, teamwork, and learning activities. There will be engaging nature exploration activities that the whole family can enjoy such as a plant scavenger hunt during our nature walk, building tiny habitats, nature art, and more! There will also be outdoor lawn games and team building activities that encourage collaboration and creativity! 🌲🦉🌱 🐾🌼

Participating families will receive a free activity swag bag with fun giveaways! Pre-registration is not required for this event and activities are suitable for all ages. Did you know that our FACE department has some fantastic FREE summer family events happening that we’d love to see you and your family at?! Check out our flier for more information on our Summer 2026 Family Events! 🎉

Our first summer family event, the Summer Community Care Hub, is taking place this Friday, June 12, from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at Whitney Avenue Elementary School (4248 Whitney Avenue, Sacramento). This is a free district and community resource fair offering families essential tools and resources to support student success. At this event, families can access tangible resources such as emergency food boxes, diapers, hygiene products, learning-at-home tools, and learn about a variety of community and district resources to support their family.

This month’s Community Care Hub will focus on summer learning resources, kids activities (outdoor games, sports, gardening, robotics), and many more family resources and community supports!

No pre-registration is required and all resources are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. We invite all families to stop by, connect, and access support needed!

Calling all Spanish speaking families of students with an IEP (Individualized Educational Program) in Special Education!

Don’t forget to join us tonight (Tuesday, April 21) at our District Office (3738 Walnut Avenue, Carmichael) from 6:00-7:30 p.m. for tonight’s workshop “Understanding Special Education and Your IEP” presented IN SPANISH by WarmLine Family Resource Center and hosted in partnership with Special Education Department, Family & Community Engagement Department and parents from the Community Advisory Committee for Special Education.

Attendees will also receive an IEP binder and hands on guidance to organize IEP paperwork and supplemental documents. Feel free to bring your IEP to follow along!
