Nature’s Lab School is a boutique, licensed outdoor bilingual early learning community serving children 24 months through Kindergarten in the Carmichael + Sacramento area. Children spend most of their day outdoors rain or shine, exploring seasonal projects, hands-on STEAM learning, cooperative play, and age-appropriate challenges that build confidence and resilience. Spanish is integrated througho

ut the day through routines, songs, stories, conversation, and guided activities, so children build comfort and vocabulary over time. Language growth varies by child and consistency of exposure; our goal is meaningful daily practice in a supportive environment. We maintain intentionally small group sizes (lower ratios than most programs) so teachers can know each child deeply and partner closely with families. Our community is grounded in our core values: Community, Kindness, Respect, Understanding, and Curiosity. Is back-to-school already feeling harder than you hoped? You have options. 💛

At Nature’s Lab School, Kindergarten means small groups, caring relationships, Spanish-rich days, nature, animals, and hands-on learning children can look forward to.

We have two Kindergarten spaces remaining. Our school year begins September 9, with flexible start dates available for families who need to begin a little earlier or later.

📚 💐🌄Community makes wonderful things possible!

We are so grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael for their generous $400 donation to help Nature’s Lab School create a Free Little Library for our learning community.

Teacher Sharon, our School Coordinator, and I were honored to receive this gift on behalf of Nature’s Lab School. Soon, this contribution will become a special place where children and families can take a book, share a book, and discover something new together.

At Nature’s Lab School, Community is one of our five core values, and partnerships like this show children what community can look like in action—people coming together, sharing resources, and investing in one another.

Dance party → after party. 💃🧹🐥

People see the joyful moments—and those are absolutely the best part. But behind every dance party, activity, event, and day at Nature’s Lab School, there’s a whole lot happening behind the scenes.

Owning a school is amazing. It’s also a tremendous responsibility and a lot of work. And it takes a community 💞

So grateful for our incredible teachers and team, and for the families and parent volunteers who give their time, energy, and care to help make this community as amazing as it is.

The magic the children experience every day is possible because so many people care about the space and community they get to grow up in. ❤️

Curiosity becomes confidence when learning is hands-on, meaningful, and shared.

At Nature’s Lab School, STEAM curriculum is something they touch, test, build, adjust, and discover.

From experimenting with ropes and pulley systems to carefully sanding wood and learning how tools work, children develop precision, persistence, problem-solving, and confidence in their own abilities.

And some of the most important learning happens between them: working together, helping one another, sharing discoveries, and cheering each other on amd engagingwith out outdoor and indoor materials, pets, and fantastic teachers, and community. 💞

This is what learning can look like when children are trusted to be capable and adults can spend time with each of them individually.

A few photos could never capture the whole 4 day weekend. 💞🌄🏕️

Catching frogs, finding animals, paddleboarding, swimming, exploring, eating together, kids exploring around with friends…and so many little moments in between.

Our favorite part was looking around and seeing our Nature’s Lab School community together—including families whose children graduated years ago.

This is what we mean when we say, “Once Nature’s Lab, always Nature’s Lab.” ❤️

We want our children to grow up knowing what community feels like—not just talking about kindness, connection, and showing up for one another, but actually experiencing it 💞

We want friendships between children and families to have the opportunity to grow far beyond the years they spend at Nature’s Lab.

And as this annual tradition grows, we look forward to welcoming more current and graduated families each year. 🥰

Imagine when these little ones will be grown and still coming back to the same place with friends they’ve known since they were two, three, four, five and six years old. 🥹💓

What if learning looked like this? 🌱🥕👨‍🌾👩‍🌾💞

Today, our Nature’s Lab School community headed to Davis Ranch for a day of picking vegetables, exploring the fields, asking questions, spending time together, and experiencing firsthand how food grows amd is harvest.

For children, a field trip like this is so much more than a fun day away from school:

It’s science when they examine how vegetables grow.

It’s language and literacy when they learn new words and ask questions.

It’s math when they count, compare, sort, and notice size and quantity.

It’s physical development as they walk, carry, pull, dig, and navigate the fields.

And it’s social-emotional learning as they stay together, help one another, interact with adults, and experience something new as a community.

This is what we mean when we say that children learn by doing.

And one of our favorite parts? Our families get to be part of these experiences, too. ❤️

We believe childhood should be filled with opportunities to wonder, explore, move, connect, and discover that learning is everywhere, not only inside a classroom.

Today, it happened in a field.
