Nature's Lab School, LLC Lic # 343623537 Preschool License Our days are built around what young children need most: movement, nature, meaningful relationships, and calm structure.

Nature’s Lab School is a boutique, licensed outdoor bilingual early learning community serving children 24 months through Kindergarten in the Carmichael + Sacramento area. Children spend most of their day outdoors rain or shine, exploring seasonal projects, hands-on STEAM learning, cooperative play, and age-appropriate challenges that build confidence and resilience. Spanish is integrated throughout the day through routines, songs, stories, conversation, and guided activities, so children build comfort and vocabulary over time. Language growth varies by child and consistency of exposure; our goal is meaningful daily practice in a supportive environment. We maintain intentionally small group sizes (lower ratios than most programs) so teachers can know each child deeply and partner closely with families. Our community is grounded in our core values: Community, Kindness, Respect, Understanding, and Curiosity. If you’re exploring enrollment, the best next step is to schedule a tour and see our program in action. Admissions is values-aligned and space is limited. We welcome families who value outdoor learning, respectful guidance, and strong community partnership.

A little sensory play, familiar faces, and a whole lot of community! 🍂

Today’s Harvest Festival brought so many sweet moments: two wonderful parent volunteers helping at our booth, Nature’s Lab families stopping by to say hello, and reunions with some of our graduates—including watching them dance and perform! 🥹✨

Then, just as we were packing up, we learned that Nature’s Lab School won Most Festive Booth! 🏆🎉 The sweetest finishing touch to a beautiful day.

Thank you to Nate and Lily for volunteering, to Sharon for helping bring it all together, and to every family who stopped by. Our community keeps growing, even after children graduate. 💚

California’s expanded TK: What’s working, what isn’t and what we’re learning

Hi!
Over the next couple of days, I’m sharing a short educational series on my school Instagram about Universal Pre-K, TK, family choice, and what a truly supported mixed-delivery early childhood system could look like in California.

This is not about being against free TK—I strongly support making high-quality early education accessible to every child. 💕

The conversation is about how we can expand that access while also protecting meaningful choices for families and the diverse early-learning programs in our communities.
I’m hoping these videos can help families, educators, community members, and current and future policymakers better understand an issue that can be surprisingly complicated.

If you’re interested, follow along on our Instagram over the next two days. I’d especially love to hear your experiences and perspectives as families.
