A Campus Connect Event in Collaboration with CDFW – Film Clips & Conversation: The Invisible Mammal

We hope there will be a showing of the full length documentary during bat week at the end of October in Sacramento.


Join us for an engaging, in-person program featuring film clips and a dynamic conversation about The Invisible Mammal—a documentary exploring bats, biodiversity, and the beauty of the natural world. The session will be moderated by Madeline Drake, CNRA’s Deputy Secretary for Biodiversity and Habitat, and will include special guests Kristin Tieche (filmmaker), Katrina Smith (CDFW), and Corky Quirk (NorCal Bats). Join for all or part of the event, but we encourage you to participate in this amazing opportunity!

ANOTHER BROOM CLASS! Adults and kids over 9 welcome. The recent class was so loved, some of the students have asked for a second class. We are meeting on Saturday the 18th of July.
Start time for the three hour class has not yet been determined. $50 per participant.

We found a red sided garter snake swimming in the river. The snake and the children were patient as each child got a chance to gently touch the snake's body.

TURKEY TAIL HANDBROOM CLASS SUNDAY JULY 5
FOR ADULTS AND CHIDLREN
Bella is in town for a short time this summer, and this is your chance to learn from her!
Join us and discover how to make this simple, but beautiful craft. These brooms are sturdy enough to work in the car or kitchen, but lovely enough to be used for an altar space, or even as a decoration. They make great gifts.
Bella has been making brooms and teaching the art of broom making for several years now. She's excellent with beginners, and has a gift for crafting, tool making, and sharing her skills.
Most ages are welcome, but moderate hand strength is required so children under 8 should bring an adult to support them who is not enrolled in the class.
Time and Location: 5700 Arden Way, at William Pond River Access (same place River Days meets) from 11am-1pm
Cost: $50
Participants will have time to complete one broom, and some may have time to make two.
