🎓 Congratulations to Nia Blunt, 2026 Mesa Verde Senior Scholarship Awardee!

Nia plans to pursue a career in social work, using her passion for advocacy to support and empower young people. Having already served as a voice for students on middle and high school campuses throughout the district, she is committed to continuing that work on a larger scale.

Nia hopes to apply her advocacy and public speaking skills to address important social welfare issues, including inequality, mental health, and substance abuse, while helping create positive change in her community.

🎓 Congratulations to Paige Carew, Cal Worthington Memorial Scholarship Awardee!

Paige has discovered a passion for agriculture through her involvement in the FFA program and plans to pursue a career within the agricultural field. 🎓 Congratulations to Ruby Braun, 2026 Mesa Verde Senior Scholarship Awardee!

Ruby is passionate about pursuing a career as a private investigator and crime analyst, combining her interest in criminal behavior, research, and investigative work. Through her studies, she plans to develop the skills needed to analyze crime scenes and better understand the motivations behind criminal activity within society.

Looking ahead, Ruby hopes to gain hands-on experience through internships beginning in her sophomore year of college, working in laboratory and data research settings to build a strong foundation for her future career.

🏺✨ PROPEL Grant Spotlight: Bringing Ancient History to Life! ✨🏺

As a History Teacher and Reading Intervention Specialist at John Barrett Middle School, Chrystania Brizzi used her PROPEL Grant funds to bring Greek pottery scratch art materials and Egyptian mask supplies into her classroom, creating hands-on learning experiences that help students connect with ancient cultures beyond the pages of a textbook.

Through these creative projects, students are exploring artistic techniques while gaining a deeper understanding of the symbolism, rituals, and identities of civilizations from the past. These activities foster critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity while making history more engaging, meaningful, and memorable.

“Your generosity is propelling learning in my classroom; it makes possible experiences that spark curiosity and long-lasting connections to the content,” shared Chrystania.

Since 2015, the ACHIEVE Scholarship Portfolio has empowered students on their journey to college, career, and beyond. These scholarships are more than financial support. They're an investment in the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

🩺 Shaunak Bhatia – Del Campo AVID Scholarship Awardee
Shaunak plans to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, become a registered nurse, and continue advancing into specialized or leadership roles in healthcare. His passion for serving others and commitment to a meaningful career are inspiring.

📚 Zoey Billian – Mesa Verde Senior Scholarship Awardee
Zoey is committed to attending San Diego State University, where she will major in Business Administration and minor in Leadership Studies. She is excited to build the skills needed to become a confident and impactful leader.

🦷 Taylor Black – Mesa Verde Senior Scholarship Awardee
Taylor plans to pursue a career in pediatric dentistry and is already taking meaningful steps toward achieving that goal. Her dedication and determination reflect the bright future ahead.

Every resource creates new opportunities for students to learn, grow, and thrive.

Thanks to a San Juan Education Foundation PROPEL Resource Grant, Ms. Kristin Salimi's first-grade classroom at Schweitzer Elementary has been filled with meaningful learning experiences. The grant has supported creative art projects, educational games for students to enjoy with their families, a special classroom celebration, and even new playground equipment that students use every day.
