🏈🔥 The Rio Tournament is back! For generations of students and families, the Rio Lindo Academy Flag Football Tournament has been a yearly highlight! ❤️🙌🏽

This weekend shows that athletics are about much more than competition. Athletics are about pushing our limits, creating memories, celebrating what we can accomplish together, and building community! 🥳 🙌🏽

🏈 Of course, we couldn't be prouder of our teams! These young men and women represent SAA with commitment, sportsmanship, and heart! Go Capitals! ❤️

👏🏿👏🏽 Shoutout to our coaches and parents for making this weekend possible! Thank you for the hours, energy, and investment you pour into our teams. Your commitment reaches beyond the games, beyond the weekend, and beyond the season. You are helping our young people grow as players, teammates, and leaders who will keep our community strong for years to come. 💪🏾❤️

📸🍂There are regular school days… and then there’s SCHOOL PICTURE DAY. 😎✨

For students, it’s the day to make sure the hair is just right, the outfit is on point, and the smile is ready. 😁👕👗 And for parents? It’s one of those special days that feels like a very big deal. ❤️📷

And for good reason. These aren’t just pictures for today. They are the photos that will live in yearbooks for decades to come! 😳📚 Someday, these smiling faces will be flipping through old yearbooks with friends and family saying, “That’s what I decided to wear?!” 😂

Shoutout to our amazing students for lighting up the day with their smiles and energy! 😄📸🍁

Today we captured a little piece of the 2026–2027 school year along with memories that will last a whole lot longer. ❤️

We are grateful for another successful Blood Drive at SAA. We are also grateful for every student, staff member, parent, and community member who rolled up a sleeve to serve someone they may never meet. 🙌🏽🙌🏻🙌🏿

Blood donation is a simple act with an extraordinary impact. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, and donated blood supports patients facing emergencies, surgeries, cancer treatments, chronic illnesses, and other critical medical needs. A single whole-blood donation can even help multiple patients. 🩸❤️

We are proud to partner with Vitalant Blood Donation to provide opportunities for our school community to turn compassion into action. 🤝 Their work helps ensure lifesaving blood is available when and where patients need it.

We are thankful to play a small part in that mission. 📅 And we’re not done yet! Mark your calendars for our next SAA Blood Drive on Tuesday, January 19, 2027! 🗓️🩸

🩸 Give Blood. Give Hope. Give Life. ❤️

On September 24, SAA is proud to once again host our community Blood Drive -- an opportunity to turn a small part of our day into a meaningful act of service. 🙌🏽

Blood donation is one of the simplest ways we can make a direct difference in the lives of others. Every donation helps support patients and families in moments when they need it most. 🩸❤️‍🩹🏥 And for us, it’s another way to put our mission into action by choosing to serve our community with compassion and generosity. 🤝🏾🌎

A huge THANK YOU to all of the students, staff, volunteers, blood drive leaders, and teams who have helped make our previous drives possible! 👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾 Your leadership and willingness to serve have helped build a tradition of giving at SAA and we’re excited to keep it going! ❤️

🌎❤️ When we give, we receive. It’s a beautiful plan devised by God – one that reminds us that the fullest lives we can possibly imagine aren’t centered on what we can gain, but on how we can bless others. 🙏✨

Recently, a few of our teachers – Mr. & Mrs. Duckett – and their three children put that idea into action by serving on a Maranatha Family Mission Trip to Peru! 🇵🇪🔨🎨 Their time was filled with service, connection, and plenty of hard work – from constructing new classrooms 🧱💪 to painting floating churches! ⛪️🎨

Their experience is a wonderful reflection of SAA’s mission of service and our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes (SLOs):
💪 Grit & Effort – Working hard, getting dirty, and using their hands to make a tangible difference.
🤝 Positive Citizenship – Investing their time, energy, and talents in communities beyond their own.
🌎 Building Lifelong Relationships – Serving alongside others and making new friends around the world.

A huge shoutout to Maranatha Volunteers International for actively partnering with SAA to help teach our students that service isn’t simply something we do – it’s a way of life. 🙌🌍
Also, special thanks to our K-5 students, families, and staff for raising $6,000 to support our sister schools and churches in Peru! 🙏✨

The world is full of opportunities to serve. Let’s follow the lead of our students and families by find a need, lending a hand, giving our time, and sharing our gifts. ❤️

❤️ Service isn’t just something we talk about at SAA, it’s something our students and staff live out each day.

When our middle school teachers saw a need for volunteers in our community, they embraced SAA’s mission of service and asked a simple question: How can we make serving others a regular part of our students’ experience? 🙌🏽
Their answer was to create flexible schedules that allow our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to step outside the classroom every 4–5 weeks and serve alongside Carmichael SDA Church Community Services. 🏫➡️🤝

Together, our students help provide food 🥫🍎 and essential home goods 🧻📦 to members of our local community. This experience is about so much more than distributing supplies. It’s an opportunity to practice two of our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes (SLOs): embracing positive citizenship and nurturing lifelong relationships. ❤️🌱

One of the greatest blessings is seeing our students work alongside dozens of faithful community volunteers, many from older generations. 👧🏽👦🏻👩🏾‍🦱👨🏼‍🦳👵🏽 These intergenerational connections give our students the opportunity to learn from people whose years of service, wisdom, and commitment demonstrate what it means to care for others over a lifetime. 🤝✨

A HUGE shoutout to Carmichael SDA Church Community Services for faithfully serving our community and for supporting, welcoming, and including our students in this ministry year after year. ❤️ We are incredibly grateful for a partnership that gives our students the chance to learn that some of life’s most important lessons happen when we roll up our sleeves and serve together. 🙏🏽

For the past 15 years, our annual Back-to-School Community Corn Roast has marked the beginning of another year at SAA. 🌽☀️🎒 And while the roasted corn, food, games, water slides, and laughter make it a pretty great evening 😋💦🎉, what makes this tradition truly special is who we get to share it with.

Students. Parents. Staff. Alumni. Churches. Friends. ❤️🤝🏽👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

The Corn Roast is a perfect picture of something that sets SAA apart – we are more than a school; we are a community. 🏫❤️ A community that shows up, serves together, laughs together, worships together, and builds relationships that extend far beyond the classroom.

It’s also one more way we actively live out our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes of building lifelong relationships 🤝🏾 and promoting positive citizenship 🌎🙌🏽. These values aren't just things we talk about; they're things our students experience when our entire community comes together.

Thank you to everyone who helped make year 15 another memorable one! 🌽🎉❤️

Here’s to a new school year filled with learning, service, friendship, faith, and plenty of moments together. 📚🙏🏽✨
School is officially back and there’s no better way to start than together! 🎒🌽🥳
