We all survived our first full week of school. Congratulations! The first one is always the hardest. Now that we are all in our new routines of school, sports, work, and fun, here are some upcoming events for Mission Avenue. Make sure to attend your student's back to school night to learn about our PTA, meet their teacher, and learn about the exciting activities they have planned for the school year.

We will be having our first general PTA meeting on Tuesday, September 1st. This will be in person and via Zoom (Zoom link will be on the meeting agenda available on our website 1 week before the meeting). We will be approving our budget for this school year. This meeting can be a bit long since we are approving the budget but there will be snacks, raffles, and lots of laughs. We hope you can join us.

We are always looking for volunteers for our various committees. If you want to learn more about them, checkout our website, www.missionpta.org, email [email protected] with your questions, or join our Discord channel (DM for invite) to learn more.

**Updated** We hope everyone had a wonder first couple of days at school. Here are some events coming up in the next few weeks at Mission. Throughout the school year PTA will be posting about the upcoming events happening at Mission Avenue.

What a great start to the school year. It was amazing to see so many new faces as well as so many friendly families. Thank you all for being a part of this amazing Mission Family. This school would not have the magic it has without all of you.

Our annual Back to School Tea was a huge success. Families were able to reconnect after the summer break, and new families were able to get a little taste of what makes Mission Avenue so magical. Remember to renew or sign up for your PTA membership over at www.missionpta.org. While you are there check out all of the fantastic activities we help offer to our school. It looks like the teachers have been posted in the San Juan Parent Portal. Make sure to head on over to see who your student's teacher is. While you are there make sure to fill out the Annual Student Information Update so the school has the most up to date information for your student and your family.

We cannot believe that school starts in just 1 week! We are so excited for all of our new staff we have at Mission this year. Let's meet our new 5th grade teachers! Welcome to Mission Avenue Christina Leong, Topher Lim, and Kristina Cremins.

Teacher assignments should be posted in the San Juan Unified School District's Parent Portal on Friday, August 7th or Monday, August 10th.

Classroom supply lists can be found at www.missionpta.org. While you are there you can renew your PTA membership for the school year so you can participate in voting at our upcoming meetings.

Our school relies on students, staff, and family members to be the magical place that it is.
