Carmi Taekwondo Center promotes Black Belt –

Gideon Williams was presented with his 2nd Degree Black Belt on July 21, 2026, becoming the eleventh member to earn the rank at Carmi Taekwondo Center. He is the son of Matthew and Megan Williams.

Gideon began his Taekwondo training at Carmi Taekwondo Center in March of 2016 in the Pre-TKD Program. In 2019 he moved to the Taekwondo program. He earned the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt on December 19, 2024. On June 26, after just over 1 ½ years as a First Degree, he successfully tested for his 2nd Degree Black Belt. His future plans include earning higher levels of Black Belt and continue his training as a student.

The black belt testing requires each to demonstrate forms, weapons drills, self-defense techniques, free sparring, and board breaking techniques.
