We had a great time at Music in the Parks 2026! Performing, arcade, and six flags! Bravo to our student musicians for an amazing 3 years in orchestra. They will be missed as they move on to high school!

We are so grateful to have had violinist Christian Howes in the classroom this week to provide a workshop experience with our orchestra students at Carmel Middle School! The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade orchestra classes participated in his creative string workshop that included improvisation using notes, bowing techniques, rhythms, emotions, and other prompts for musical creativity. Students also got to observe performances using a loop pedal and sound effects. The students had a great time applying their prior knowledge to their instruments in new and exciting ways. Special thanks to Dr. O for stopping in for a bit as well! Thank you Chris for lending your expertise to our students!

Congratulations to the Carmel Middle School 7th Grade, 8th Grade, and Chamber Orchestra for their outstanding performances at ISSMA organizational at Clay Middle School. All three ensembles earned a Gold with Distinction rating! Bravo!

🎶🎶🎶An event just for 8th grade Orchestra students coming to CHS next year: 🎶🎶🎶

The Carmel High School Orchestra Council cordially invites your 8th grade orchestra students to attend our 8th Grade Social event! Students will have an opportunity to get their questions answered about the orchestra program, meet current students and directors, as well as get to know their future orchestra peers through an evening of fun activities! We strongly encourage all current 8th grade orchestra students to attend, even if your 8th grader is on the fence about taking orchestra next year. The event will be held in the orchestra room at Carmel High School on Friday, February 20th from 5pm-7pm. Feel free to come late or leave early if needed. Please note that this date has changed since we first gave out information about it at academic transition night. Any questions about the event can be directed to [email protected].

Congratulations to the Carmel MS Orchestra students who participated in ISSMA Solo & Ensemble contest at Westfield HS today!

All 49 participants from Carmel MS orchestra earned gold ratings, including 35 soloists and 5 ensembles. Additionally, Isaac Z, Abby B, Purvith B, and Xander D achieved a gold rating on their group 1 solo and will be heading to state! Way to go!
