Project DEBUNK Dyslexia Center Project DEBUNK gives families a place to go for truthful information about dyslexia and to find tutor help if needed. Micro-School in Maine.

Although we may put on future national events for families again, for a season we are running L.A.M.P. Project DEBUNK is here to give Maine families, teachers, schools and others a place to go for truthful information about what dyslexia is, to debunk the myths still surrounding what dyslexia is not, and to support dyslexics through education, understanding, special group activities and tutoring.

Project DEBUNK's vision is for every dyslexic youth in our community and beyond to receive the support needed to feel successful, beginning in preschool and continuing into adulthood, by focusing on the whole child, including the mental/emotional health and growth that is needed to live a meaningful life.

During dyslexia awareness month, just a reminder that you as a parent need to do what is best for YOUR child. You do not need to agree with the schools or even other parents of dyslexic children. Do your research, know your child and find your journey. Will this be the easy answer? No! Will it be the CURE? No, because dyslexia is NOT an illness, but it will teach you about a created brain structure that learns in different ways. Treasure this journey even in the difficult days because before you know it they are grown up and you want to have so many special memories that don't involve IEP meetings to reflect on. Find their gifts and strengths and use them to make life shine! Happy Dyslexia Awareness month. ❤️
