Still carrying the joy and pride from this weekend performance! We premiered “Agni - The Cosmic Flame of Shiva,” a semi-classical thematic dance at IMA Onam, and what a beautiful experience it was!

I have watched these dancers grow since they were just 5–6 years old. Their love, dedication, and passion for this art form have only grown stronger over the years. To watch them grow into such beautiful dancers, take the stage with confidence, and bring Agni to life so beautifully fills my heart with immense pride.

From the little dancers I once watched learning their first steps to seeing them shine on stage like this. Moments like these make the entire journey so special.

Three years… and it still feels like yesterday.

Pallavi’s Arangetram will always hold a very special place in my heart as the very first Arangetram I choreographed and presented here in Indianapolis. Looking back, I realize how many of my dream choreographies came to life on that stage. Every piece felt so effortless because of Pallavi’s dedication, grace, and ability to truly bring every emotion to life. As a teacher and choreographer, there’s no greater joy than watching your vision come alive through your student.

This would never have been the same without the unwavering support of our incredible music team. Their artistry, commitment, and constant encouragement elevated every performance and made the entire production unforgettable.

Some performances are milestones. Some become memories. And then there are those that become a part of who you are. This Arangetram will always be one of those for me. Forever grateful for this beautiful journey and everyone who made it so special. 🙏

Two years already… Time truly flies.

It’s hard to believe that it has already been two years since Srika’s Arangetram.

Srika is one of my very first students, and watching her journey has been incredibly special. Week after week, she and her family traveled all the way from Fort Wayne for classes, a commitment that tells about their dedication to this art. Every class was followed by hours of sincere practice, always trying for perfection and never settling for anything less than her best.

Even today, people still talk about the Dasavatharam she performed at her Arangetram. For an artist, having a performance remembered years later is one of the greatest compliments, and she truly left a lasting impression on everyone who watched.

What makes me even happier is that her Arangetram wasn’t the end of her dance journey. While many students choose to stop dancing after this milestone, Srika has continued to learn, grow, and challenge herself. Seeing my senior students continue their Bharatanatyam journey is one of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher.

Over the years, many people have told me they can see my training and style reflected in Srika’s dancing. As a teacher, there is no greater joy than seeing your student carry forward your teachings while blossoming into an artist with her own grace and identity.

This Arangetram would not have been the unforgettable experience it was without the incredible support of our amazing orchestra. My heartfelt gratitude to Sudhaman Chettan, Rajesh Ettan, and Veeramani Annan for their exceptional musicianship, unwavering support, and for bringing every piece to life so beautifully. It is always an absolute privilege and joy to work alongside such talented artists, and I am truly grateful for each of you.

Srika, I am so proud of the dedicated, humble, and beautiful dancer you have become. Thank you for trusting me to be a part of your journey. Wishing you continued success, many more memorable performances, and a lifetime filled with dance. Keep shining! ❤️

An year ago, we celebrated a truly unforgettable milestone, Sunjuna’s Arangetram. Sunjana Nalamolu

Behind every Arangetram is years of dedication, discipline, perseverance, and countless hours of learning. Watching a student transform into a confident and graceful performer is one of the greatest joys of being a teacher. For Sunjuna and her family, that dedication also meant making the nearly two-hour drive from Fort Wayne to Carmel week after week, year after year, so she could pursue her passion for Bharatanatyam. Their commitment and belief in this journey have always been truly inspiring.

This Arangetram will always hold a special place in my heart. I was in the final weeks of my pregnancy, and just two weeks later, my daughter was born.

As I look back at these photographs, I’m reminded that an Arangetram is not just the culmination of a student’s journey, it becomes a treasured memory for everyone who is part of it.

Congratulations once again, Sunjuna. Watching you grow as a dancer has been a privilege, and I can’t wait to see where your Bharatanatyam journey takes you next. ❤️

What a wonderful weekend at the American Natya Idol National Competition in St. Louis!

We are incredibly proud of our Samyoga dancers who represented our school at this prestigious national level classical dance competition, which brought together over 300 participants from across the country. Being selected to perform on such a stage is a significant achievement and a reflection of the hard work, discipline, and dedication these young artists bring to their training.

We were delighted to see our dancers hard work recognized on the national stage, with one of our group performances receiving special recognition at the competition.

Most importantly, every dancer represented Samyoga with confidence, grace, and a genuine love for the art form. At Samyoga, we celebrate not only accomplishments, but also growth, perseverance, and the courage to perform. Every rehearsal, every performance, and every experience on stage contributes to the journey of becoming a stronger artist.

Congratulations to all our participants on a beautiful showing at the national level. We are proud of each and every one of you and look forward to seeing your continued growth in the years ahead.

As the curtains close on Samarpana 2026, my heart is filled with gratitude, pride, and joy.

Watching our students take the stage with confidence, grace, and dedication was truly rewarding. Every performance reflected months of hard work, discipline and commitment. Seeing each choreography come to life on stage was a proud moment for me and for everyone who has been part of this journey.

To all our students, congratulations on a beautiful performance. Be proud of what you achieved, but as I always remind you, never stop learning. Every performance is an opportunity to learn, improve and grow.

To all our parents, thank you for your trust, encouragement, and endless support. From classes and rehearsals to costumes and countless hours behind the scenes, none of this would have been possible without you.

This year’s recital was especially meaningful for our family. While preparing and executing the entire production, Hari and I were also caring for our 10 month old daughter and our 5 year old son. Between rehearsals, backstage coordination, lighting, timing, costume changes, feeding the kids, and making sure everything ran smoothly, it was challenging. Yet somehow everything came together, the program started on time, and our students shined on stage.

It was a reminder that parenthood and passion often go hand in hand. Sometimes pursuing your dreams means carrying your children along on the journey and finding a way to make both work together.
