There is nothing better than seeing the pure joy on a child’s face. ❤️
Our Mahopac ESY students had an unforgettable afternoon at the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Fireman’s Fair. The smiles, laughter, and excitement shared by our students, their families, and staff filled the fairgrounds and created memories that will last a lifetime.
This year was made even more meaningful with the addition of the sensory tent—a quiet, welcoming space where students could take a break, regulate, and then return to all the fun. Watching inclusion come to life in such a meaningful way was truly heartwarming and reminded us that small accommodations can make a world of difference.
A heartfelt thank you to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department for once again opening your doors and your hearts to our students and their families. Your continued support helps create a community where every child feels welcomed, included, and celebrated just as a they are.

✨ Collaboration Makes a Difference! ✨
Mahopac SEPTO was so proud to partner with The Soft Place to Land to bring a sensory tent to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department’s annual ESY Fair for our incredible students. 💙💛
The tent provided a cool, calming space where children could take a break from the heat, regulate, and enjoy sensory-friendly toys and activities whenever they needed. It was beautifully put together and truly made a difference for so many families.
A heartfelt thank you to The Soft Place to Land for your generosity, collaboration and dedication to creating inclusive experiences for our community. We received so many wonderful compliments from parents and staff about how impactful the sensory tent was!
We are so grateful for this partnership and can’t wait to collaborate again in the future. Together, we’re creating a more inclusive community—one event at a time. 💙

Cooking together helps students practice following directions, measuring ingredients, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and kitchen safety—all while building confidence and independence in a fun, hands-on environment.

🎶 Music has been filling the halls of ESY thanks to Mrs. Haight’s teaching assistant, Eric Binder! 🎶
Twice a week, Mr. Binder brings his musical talents into the classroom, sharing a variety of instruments and introducing students to the joy of making music together. As a college music professor, he brings a wealth of knowledge and passion, creating an experience our students look forward to every week.
The smiles, excitement, and engagement say it all—they absolutely LOVE music time! 💙🎵
A huge thank you to Mr. Binder for sharing his talents and creating meaningful opportunities for our students to learn, explore, and have fun through music. Experiences like these make ESY even more special!

A heartfelt thank you to Tractor Supply for welcoming our students and partnering with our school to help make these meaningful learning experiences possible. We look forward to seeing all that’s to come! 👏
