FRC 868 - Carmel High School TechHOUNDS TechHOUNDS is a FIRST Robotics Team in Carmel, IN, dedicated to fostering love for STEM.

The Carmel High School TechHOUNDS is a student-led robotics team that grows technology, leadership, and outreach in our team and community through participation in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). Each year, the team competes in the FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC) with over 3000 other teams across the world to design and build a robot to play a given game. Through

this intense yet rewarding process, TechHOUNDS is able to provide its members with real-world experience in engineering, product development, cooperation, and gracious professionalism. With over 100 student members and 20 mentors, TechHOUNDS is also heavily involved in the community, giving several demonstrations, teaching at elementary schools, and hosting large-scale events like the Women in Technology Workshop.

The TechHOUNDS had an amazing time celebrating our 25th Anniversary with family, alumni, mentors and friends! Our team barbecue was filled with great food, games, memories and team connections spanning 2002-present! After reflecting on a quarter of a century of competitive seasons with the most dedicated students, coaches and mentors, we were sincerely humbled and excited for what the future holds! Thank you everyone who has contributed to TechHOUNDS in so many ways over the years and keep coming back strong to support us! In honor of the 2026-2027 season being TechHOUNDS’ 25th year of participating in FIRST, we are hosting a BBQ to celebrate! The BBQ will be on August 29th from 4-8pm at Cool Creek Park Shelter A. We will have fun yard games, food, movies, and other fun activities for guests to take part in as we celebrate our team’s legacy. For the BBQ portion of this event, attendees can purchase a meal ticket that is good for one burger, hotdog, or veggie burger and one drink. Additional sides and sweets will be provided by students who are assigned different foods by grade level. Students, check your email for important information!

Reconnect with current and former mentors, students, families, sponsors, volunteers, and friends while enjoying a classic barbecue, sharing memories, and recognizing the people who have helped shape TechHOUNDS. Whether you were part of TechHOUNDS from the very beginning or have recently joined the team, this celebration is an opportunity to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the lasting impact of STEM education in our community!

It’s a wrap for TechHOUNDS “Grow STEM” Summer Camp 2026 with the culmination of our Jungle Jamboree Robot Competition! What an epic finish to a truly amazing week with our campers! Teams “Flying Houndz” and “Da’ Boys” were our ultimate robot game Champion Alliance with “The Dart Frogs” and “The Random Robotics Team” finishing as our Finalists Alliance! HUGE congratulations to all of our INCREDIBLE Competition teams and campers! They all designed and built some awesome robots that we won’t soon forget! 💙💛🪴🎉🤖
