It’s the teachers and the students inside the building that make our preschool year so wonderful! This little friend is moving on to kindergarten and he wanted to give one last hug to the preschool he loved so much! We’ll miss all of our friends who are moving on to kindergarten and can’t wait to hear about summer stories for those little ones returning next year!
Last week, one of our 3/4’s classes utilized water play noting whether various objects would sink or float. In addition to children just LOVING anything involving water, they were sneaky learning early physics concepts like motion and buoyancy. Future Physicists in the making!

Mom’s Spring Fling is always a special time at St. Mark’s Preschool and this year was no different. Thank you to all the amazing, caring, selfless, generous, compassionate, kind moms that raise the amazing little humans you share with us each day. There is not a more fun way to learn about science concepts than with Miss Liz the Science Wiz! Thank you for teaching us all about our important, buzzy friends, the bees!
One of our 4/5 classes has been studying zoo animals. This week they created a map of the zoo by drawing animals in their different habitats. They spent time discussing maps and learning about different animal’s habitats, what they eat, and how they behave. They also did gross motor animal games and even baked “Monkey Bread” as a special snack. A lot of learning happening while having a whole lot of fun!
We have been enjoying being outdoors again at St. Mark’s Preschool! From insect hunts to sidewalk chalk art to playground fun, we’re soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the last couple weeks of the school year!
Our two’s classes had a slippery, slimy, sensory experience this week! They thought we were just having fun, (and we were!) BUT we also know they were getting valuable sensory input leading to emotional regulation, language development and cognitive growth. 💪🏼
