Founded in 1984, the Golden Gate–California Chapter has been a steadfast presence in San Francisco's alumni community for more than four decades.
Members share a passion for exploring topics ranging from gemstone mining and sourcing to industry history, diamond trends, and the ever-evolving retail market.

The chapter is known for its lively conversations, welcoming social hours, and memorable adventures, including road trips to the Montana Sapphire Mines and Benitoite Mines, private tours such as the Cartier Exhibit, and the friendly tradition of members pulling a mystery gemstone from their pocket for others to identify.
Whether hosting industry speakers, sharing expertise, discovering new gemstones, or enjoying a chat with fellow members, the chapter fosters a warm and vibrant sense of community.
