She served on the writing group for the California English Language Arts Framework of 2006. Her methodology has been used for 15 years and has a record of success across California as a school turn-around specialist. Dr. Gonzales’ work has appeared in Educational Leadership, Thrust and Education Week and she has presented at major national and state educational leadership conferences. advantage in students’ continued education. New Directions for Academic Advancement is a California state-approved provider for schools and districts that need assistance. New Directions was one of the original 26 agencies first approved by the California Department of Education to provide assistance to school districts through School Assistance Intervention Teams (SAIT) in 2002-03. New Directions has state approved and trained SAIT leads for elementary, middle, and high schools. In 2007, New Directions was approved to serve as a District Assistance Intervention Team (DAIT) provider.
