We jump-started Fatherโ€™s Day festivities on campus with our annual Donuts with Dad event! ๐Ÿฉ Great singing performances, artistic plays written by each of our kindergarteners, painted back scratchers, cards, posters, colored baseball hats, and handmade bracelets contributed to our studentsโ€™ showering of love for their cool dads. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ Thank you LCVPK dads for all that you do for your kiddos! ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

We were fortunate to have one of our kindergarten parents engage in an enlightening discussion about our DNA and its significance in her job at a crime lab! ๐Ÿงฌ๐Ÿฅผโœจ Our kindergarteners learned about the impact of DNA on identity and the traits that are determined by it. They then applied their newfound knowledge about DNA and DNA codes to solve the intriguing mystery of the half-eaten apple. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ˜Ž We greatly thank this parent for her time, enthusiasm, and allowing students to witness the practical application of science in their everyday lives! ๐Ÿงฌ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

In awe of fossils in our Butterfly classroom! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ โœจ๐Ÿคฏ Students learned how to compare recent bones to fossil bones, and also rocks to fossils. They got to see up close a real T-Rex bone, a s***m whale tooth that is 300 million years old, and other marine animals that have been fossilized! ๐Ÿฆ–๐Ÿ‹

Check out some of last weekโ€™s learning activities! Meet Bob the Robot who was engineered by our TK students and whose name was voted on. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿค– Repurposed Motherโ€™s Day flowers mixed with watercolor and glitter added a creative element in our sensory mud kitchen.๐ŸŒนโœจ๐ŸŒผ And, a sunflower grown by a kindergartener continues to be a STEM focus.๐ŸŒป More fun and engaging activities coming up this week too, of course. ๐Ÿ˜
