Penn State Dickinson Law's Hannah Wiseman, Michael Helbing, and Mohamed Rali Badissy led ordinance database research and compilation efforts for the Penn State Center for Energy Law and Policy Pennsylvania solar ordinance database. The database includes filters for a variety of provisions in local government ordinances addressing grid-scale solar development and is available to the public free of charge. The database contains 4,900 ordinance provisions from 300 local governments across 57 counties.

In August, Daryl Lim, H. Laddie Montague Jr. Chair in Law and associate dean for research and strategic partnerships, participated in the international roundtable “IP in Asia: How Reliable Intellectual Property Rights Foster Innovation, Economic Growth, and Global Competitiveness” at the National University of Singapore. Lim presented on how the reliability and predictability of intellectual property systems can foster innovation, investment, and cross-border collaboration.

This summer, members of the Penn State Dickinson Law Class of 2029 found something special in their mailboxes: a handwritten welcome note from a member of the Alumni Society Board of Directors.
More than 250 notes were written to the incoming 1L class - sharing encouragement, wisdom, and a little Penn State Dickinson Law spirit as they begin their journey.

Dermot Groome, professor at Penn State Dickinson Law, appeared on the BBC yesterday to provide analysis following the death of Ratko Mladić, the former Bosnian Serb general convicted for crimes committed during the Balkan Wars.

Groome served as lead prosecutor for the international tribunal during Mladić’s war crimes trial, bringing a unique perspective to the discussion.

Professor Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia will be the chief guest at “September 11th: 25 Years After, Remembrance, Reflection & Community,” an event sponsored by Roger Williams University School of Law’s Institute for Race and the Law, The Boston Bar Association, and the South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston.

The event will be held at 9:30 a.m. on September 11 at the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse in Boston. Participants are invited to “be in community and hear the stories of those whose lives have been shaped by the events of that day and all that followed as a result.”
