Welcome to the second Weekly Update from Sterling Elementary. The information below is repeated from last week, but please be sure and double check to make sure you have taken a moment to review, as we know it’s a lot during these first weeks.

We're ready, Jets! 🎉

PowerSchool Parent Portal system maintenance is complete, and we are excited to provide you with the following Back to School information:

✈️ School building - School Information tab
✈️ Homeroom teacher (elementary) - Demographic Info tab
✈️ Bus information - Transportation tab

If you're still seeing a "disabled" or "information not available" message, proceed with clicking onto the School Information, Demographic Info, and Transportation tabs to view the information that has been released. Please be certain to review this information again before the first day of school (Sept. 1), in case of any updates.

Principals are expected to follow up with more building-specific information soon.

Wagar and high school students will receive their class schedules next week during Open Houses/Orientation. For a reminder of these dates, visit airportschools.com and view the "Upcoming Events" calendar.

As a reminder, the PowerSchool app has limited features. If you're using the app and do not see the information you're looking for, please log in to the Parent Portal through your phone or computer's web browser.

With concerns about your student's transportation information, please contact First Student Transportation at 734-654-3433. Remember to review this information regularly in case of any changes.

With trouble logging in, please select the "forgot password" option to reset your information.

Airport Community Schools is seeking TWO Caregivers for our Jet Care Child Care program at Sterling Elementary School. Early applications are encouraged!

Here are some details about the positions:

MORNING CAREGIVER
✈️ High school diploma required
✈️ Pay is $15.50/hour paid through EduStaff
✈️ Hours are 5:50-8:50 a.m. M-F

AFTERNOON CAREGIVER
✈️ High school diploma required
✈️ Pay is $15.50/hour paid through EduStaff
✈️ Hours are 2:15pm-6 p.m. M-F

All elementary Open Houses are from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31 at your child's school building. If you don't know your child's building assignment, hold tight! The district is working to finalize registrations for all Future Jets. 🎒✏️🏫🍎

In partnership with local volunteers, Airport Community Schools is hosting a FREE Clothing Giveaway for district families from 2-7 p.m. today, Friday, July 31 in the Wagar Middle & Junior High School gymnasium. Please use the south entrance of the building to enter the gym.
