How do you mend a broken jack-o'-lantern?
With a pumpkin patch 🎃

All this learning about pumpkins makes us so excited for our pumpkin patch field trip on Monday!

Today we explored the inside of a pumpkin and then recreated the inside of a pumpkin at art with gel, seeds, coloring and pipe cleaners to make a “pumpkin guts sensory bag”

Then at centers the kiddos enjoyed counting pumpkin seeds and some pumpkin prewriting tracing!

Last day for our letter O and we reviewed both sounds at our listening center!

Are all these pumpkins catching you off gourd? 🎃

Today the kiddos absolutely loved our pumpkin centers! They placed pumpkin erasers to make shapes and got to hammer golf tees into our big pumpkin!

At art they enjoyed making puffy paint pumpkins.. such a cool and different technique for painting!

Finally we had lots of fun with the different centers at our letter O table. They have officially learned both sounds of letter O!

Let’s give them pumpkin to talk about 🎃

Today we read all about Spookly the Square pumpkin and recreated him at art!

Then at centers, the kiddos loved playing in our pumpkin dramatic play, pumpkin patch sensory bin, building gates out of clothes pins and popsicle sticks to stick 5 little pumpkins on the gate, and rolling play doh pumpkins on our pumpkin counting / tracing mats!

We also continued to practice the letter O and the two sounds that it makes!

Gourd vibes only here in Pre-K during pumpkin week! 🎃

Today art the kiddos worked very hard on their fine motor skills with their beaded pumpkins. For centers the enjoyed match pumpkin shapes, playing in our pumpkin guts sensory bin and learning the second sound of letter O.

It’s pumpkin week! We are learning about them all week to prepare for our field trip to the pumpkin patch on Monday! 🎃

Today the kids read 5 little pumpkins and recreated the 5 little pumpkins on a gate during art. For centers they loved playing with our wiki sticks and following lines to make pumpkins, playing in our pumpkin patch themed sensory bin and following a recipe to make pumpkin pie!

SURPRISE! The Carey Fire Department brought over their ladder truck for a visit! 🚒

The kids had an absolute blast learning about the different parts of the truck, seeing the equipment, sharing all the knowledge they have learned this week, and listening to a book that helped them learn all about stop, drop and roll!

We cannot thank you guys enough and not only everything you do to bring a smile to these kiddos faces, but also everything you do for our community!

Hot tip: stay fire-safe 🔥

Today’s art was a hint into what is to come tomorrow for our big surprise!

The kiddos enjoyed counting flames with our fire trucks and making fire safety themed play doh mats.

At the curriculum table they enjoying playing count the chickens game to practice our counting / 1:1 counting skills.

Fire extinguishers put the flame out, not the fun!

Today the kiddos had a blast making fire hats, putting together shape fire trucks, counting rings to make water streams, cutting and matching uppercase / lowercase O’s and and putting out the fire in our shaving cream fire sensory bin!
