This summer, rising 2L Anu Ngwa is splitting her time between the Missouri State Public Defender's Office in Jackson, Missouri, and the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Working in both indigent defense and prosecution has given her a unique opportunity to observe the criminal justice system from two different perspectives.

One key takeaway from these experiences is that wealth and access to resources significantly shape how individuals engage with the legal system. Financial means often influence the quality of representation, the resources available to a case, and, ultimately, the type of justice that is achieved.
