This is the official account for the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Chancellor. During his time at SIU, Dr. Lane has overseen the launch and implementation of the university’s strategic plan, Imagine 2030, which rests on five equally important strategic pillars: student success and engagement; diversity, equity, and inclusion; branding and partnerships; research and innovation, and sustainability. Enrollment of new freshmen has grown significantly, and more students from the Southern Illinois region are choosing to earn their bachelor’s degrees close to home. "GO, SOUTHERN, GO!"

Thank you Southern. πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ

This week our students showed up in numbers, brought incredible energy and enthusiasm, and made the most of every opportunity to celebrate their Saluki pride.

Loren and I want to personally thank our faculty, staff, students, alumni, community partners and everyone who helped make this year’s Homecoming such a community success.

It takes all of us to create these experiences, bring our campus to life, welcome our alumni home, and showcase the very best of Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

This week was a powerful reminder that we are better together. When Salukis come together, there’s no limit to what we can accomplish.

Thank you for an incredible Homecoming week and for making SIU a place we are all proud to call home.

Once a Saluki, always a Saluki! β›³οΈπŸ‘πŸΎ

What a surprise running into some former Saluki Women's Golf players at Apple Creek Golf Club.

Course owner Denny Kortkamp served for over 21 years with the Saluki golf programs and also coached this group at Southern, making this connection even more special.

Always enjoy seeing the lifelong connections and friendships that come from being part of Saluki Athletics.

Salukis Care Day! πŸ‘πŸΎπŸΎβœ…

As we approach the midpoint of the semester, Salukis Care Day offers our students a well-deserved break from their busy schedules to unwind and enjoy time with their campus community!

Creating a vibrant and welcoming campus atmosphere is an important part of the student experience at Southern. Events like these give our students opportunities to build friendships, strengthen their sense of belonging, and make lasting memories beyond the classroom.

Thank you to our Saluki Cares team and campus partners for continuing this semesterly tradition and helping make Southern a place where our students feel connected, supported and proud to be Salukis.

It was wonderful spending time with our faculty, staff and students at today’s Campus Appreciation Cookout.

This fall’s enrollment and retention growth reflect the momentum we’re building across
Southern Illinois University Carbondale. From the classroom to the countless people working behind the scenes, it takes all of us to support our students and keep SIU moving forward.

I’m grateful for the dedication, energy and Saluki pride our campus community brings every day.

Thank you for all you do, and thank you to everyone who joined us today to celebrate our Saluki community.

Shout-out to Gordon Food Service for donating today’s food. Was great getting to chat with your team.
