Thanks for your patience while the Festival has been on hiatus. We are in the process of moving from being a one time per year literary festival to being a year-round online reading series available to all writers everywhere. Our first event as the Devil's Kitchen Reading Series will be in late September 2023.

Devil's Kitchen will be back in 2022. Until then, we encourage folks to go a few hours north of Carbondale to Urbana, where the University of Illinois is putting on one hell of a festival.

Hello, writers! I know many of you are anxious about entering the Devil's Kitchen Reading Awards. The awards and the festival are going on hiatus in 2021. Losing Jon Tribble, our guiding light and festival organizer, has been rough. So we want to regroup and spend some time rethinking the way we do things. The awards and festival will return in 2022.
