The leaves have just started changing, but we're looking ahead to the best springtime event in the Valley, that's right, the Carbondale Arts Fashion Show!
Designer Applications for the 2027 show open TODAY. Artists and designers who have experience working in fashion, textiles, graphic, and industrial design are encouraged to apply.
🔸Clothing must be sustainably created using a combination of ethically sourced, sustainable fabrics, up-cycled, and/or recycled materials made by the applying designer or in a fair trade and/or locally-sourced scenario.
🔸 Carbondale Arts works with amateur, volunteer models from the community and cares deeply about presenting all bodies types in the fashion show. We strongly encourage that your collection accommodates a range of shapes and sizes. Please consider this in the model sizing section of the application and note if and how you are able to accommodate a range of body types.
🔸NEW THIS YEAR: Carbondale Arts is offering stipends to designers based on the amount of designs in their collections, as well as the return of designer awards for People’s Choice, Best Use of Materials, and Best Use of Theme.
The theme you ask? Drumroll please....we’re diving into The Labyrinth: Full of twists and turns, obstacles and illusions, a labyrinth is a journey where getting lost is exactly the point. The Labyrinth is a place ominous, absurd, beautiful, funny, disorienting, and wildly imaginative. With puzzles to solve, lies to uncover, strange encounters, cryptic clues, and dead ends, anything could be waiting around the next corner.
