Meet Ashlyn. She graduated with a degree in Foreign Language and International Trade with a minor in Japanese Language. Ashlyn participated in a Study Abroad Exchange with Meiji University in the Spring 2026. She had the opportunity to reconnect with several Japanese students she first met when they attended SIU's Center for English as a Second Language as exchange students. It was truly a full-circle moment!

Spring break adventures, but make it educational! ✈️📚

A group of SIU students spent their break studying abroad in Germany as part of the Global Seminar: The History and Culture of the Rhineland program. This immersive eight-day experience allowed students to explore historical and cultural landmarks while earning 3 credit hours in LCIS 401-800 (English) or 3-6 credit hours in GER 493-800 (German).

From walking along the Rhine in Mainz to discovering the elegance of Castle Benrath in Düsseldorf and exploring the stunning architecture of Aachen, this trip was one for the books! 🇩🇪✨
