Flexibility isn’t just a skill—it’s something children practice, notice, and build. In Peer Pals, we guide them to try new ideas, adjust when plans change, and make space for others’ contributions, all while supporting their confidence and curiosity.

Through movement, hands-on creativity, and cooperative projects, children experience flexibility in real time—stretching their bodies, twisting their thinking, and learning how to keep going when things don’t go exactly as planned. These moments show how intentional teaching turns play into meaningful growth.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is one of the frameworks I integrate into my work at Mindful Me Behavior Support.

At its core, ACT is values-centered, supporting psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present, step back from unhelpful thoughts, and take action that aligns with what truly matters.

In early childhood, it’s about meeting children where they are. It means supporting the development of skills that increase independence, dignity, and connection. It also means helping educators respond in ways that reflect their values, and guiding families to make decisions rooted in clarity and purpose.

I thoughtfully blend ACT principles with Applied Behavior Analysis in a way that is contextual, compassionate, and neurodiversity-affirming. Evidence-based practice and human-centered care can, and should, coexist.

Every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and connected, at home, at school, and in their communities.

That’s the work.

Preschool Peer Pals is so. much. fun.

This program is truly a labor of love. I spent over 50 hours across three weeks bringing our winter curriculum to life. Every bit of that time went into dreaming, refining, testing, and preparing thoughtful experiences for the kids. Seeing it all come together has been pure magic. ✨

Peer Pals is an 8-week seasonal group where children build social-emotional skills through movement, mindfulness, intentional teaching, and play. It’s rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, guided by behavior analysis, and supported by early childhood best practices. It is designed to feel warm, safe, playful & highly engaging.

Our goal is simple: making sure every child feels like they belong. 🤍

Our first online parent workshop!

Values in Action – Parenting with Purpose
Friday, February 20th at 12:30 PM MST

This 60-minute, interactive gathering invites parents to slow down, reflect on what matters most in their family, and learn how to bring those values into everyday parenting moments. Together, we’ll explore how values can guide routines, strengthen connection, and support challenging moments.

In this workshop, parents will:
* Identify the values they want to guide their family life
* Explore how values can support parenting decisions during everyday routines and challenging moments
* Practice turning values into small, doable actions that feel realistic and sustainable
* Develop shared family language that supports consistency, connection, and teamwork across parents and children

Parents will be guided through reflection and simple exercises, leaving with clarity and a plan for moving forward—without the pressure to be perfect.

The workshop is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and supported by behavior-analytic tools to help turn values into meaningful action. The space is warm, non-judgmental, and connection-focused.

What’s beautiful about this workshop is that if you can’t attend live, you can still sign up. You’ll receive a full audio recording and a digital parent workbook afterward, so you won’t miss a thing.

Click the link in our bio and head to “Group Programs & Events” to sign up.

Our sweet little sister company is in the news! 💛 https://soprissun.com/you-belong-at-mindful-me-playhouse/

While Mindful Me Playhouse and Mindful Me Behavior Support are two separate companies, they are deeply intertwined—connected through shared values, intentional action, and a commitment to supporting children, families, and communities. Everything we do is rooted in the same belief: you belong here.

Peer Pals just got a HUGE upgrade and I want to share a little bit about this amazing program💛 I’ve been deeply immersed in refining our winter curriculum, and it’s feeling better than ever.

Rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, guided by behavior analysis, and supported by early childhood best practices, this program is truly evidence-based.

What makes Peer Pals unique is not just the use of these frameworks, but how they are thoughtfully integrated. Skills are taught explicitly, practiced joyfully, and reinforced through connection. Emotional growth is supported alongside behavioral learning, and children are encouraged to be curious, flexible, and compassionate with themselves and others.

Our goal is for every child to feel like they belong. Throughout each session, children explore important topics like recognizing feelings, forming friendships, flexible thinking, and working through conflict. Extra support in developing these skills can lead to greater happiness at school, increased self-confidence, and a solid foundation for building meaningful relationships throughout their life.

Right now, we offer a Preschool version and an Early Elementary version for Kinder & 1st grade. Peer Pals can run as an after-school club, part of preschool aftercare, or be fully integrated into your daily programming. If you’re interested in bringing Peer Pals to your school or community, just reach out—I would love to connect!

I’ve been really struggling with how I want to show up here. Do I make a curated, branded page? Do I share all about the business? Promote our programs?

Honestly, I keep deleting, trying again, and deleting some more because nothing has felt authentic.

So here I am—no makeup, first day back at work after my “long winter rest,” feeling so incredibly joyful. 🌿

Over the break, I did a major business audit: pulled all our Google records to see how much time was being spent across different programs and services, looked at client retention rates, sent out a few parent surveys related to that to gather feedback, demoed new practice management software, and—my personal favorite—created all the curriculum for our upcoming winter Peer Pals programs.

Because I was able to tackle all of this while our doors were closed for the break, today I got to spend time connecting with leadership at all three of the schools we consult with, led a teacher training, and prepped materials for client sessions and classes this week. I feel calm in a way I haven’t for a long time. I think these company-wide audits and updates might need to become a regular thing, haha.

This page? I’m letting it be whatever I want, with no pressure for it to “be” a certain way. Authentic. Grounded in values. Held with mindful intention.

P.S. Shameless plug—our elementary school Peer Pals group at Crystal River for kinder & 1st grade has ONE spot left. Could it be yours? ✨

Our current administration is causing immense harm to the autism and disability community. At Mindful Me, we believe every voice matters — and we will never stop speaking up, sharing truth, and advocating for real inclusion.

Jim Sinclair, a pioneering autistic activist and co-founder of Autism Network International, reminded us in “Don’t Mourn for Us” that autism isn’t a tragedy, and autistic people don’t need fixing. They need respect, understanding, and a world that listens.

A little note from our founder ✨

Hi, Jodi here 👋

At Mindful Me, my mission has always been to build a team rooted in collective leadership.
Yes, I may be the owner — but as any good business owner knows, you’re only as strong as your team.

To me, collective leadership means that every person on our team is encouraged to be fully themselves. My role is to nurture that — to offer guidance, structure, and ongoing professional development — while giving them the freedom to lead in their own authentic way.

When I hired sweet Tori as our Director of Educational Services, I knew she would shine in this role… but wow, has she exceeded even my biggest hopes. In less than three months, she’s built a full private caseload, taken the lead on a school contract, and filled every spot in our fall Peer Pals groups.

This is the kind of magic that happens when you trust your people and honor their unique strengths. 🌿

My heart swelled today when I snuck into the back of a Peer Pals group at a local preschool — thirteen little ones, totally captivated by Tori’s puppet show. Business ownership can be hard, but it’s moments like these that remind me: I’m right where I’m meant to be.

And guess what?! We’re welcoming another team member next week — I can’t wait to introduce you to her 💛
