Happy Sterile Processing Week!

Earlier this year I hosted a free workforce Development class for people to take the certification exam to enter the sterile processing field in healthcare.

The class was offered for free to black women in honor of their viral trend that took off on Tiktok called HillmonTok - A free and Virtual Worldwide University And which people skill traded in order to help others improve their lives and earning potentials as the world faced the impending Doom we are currently enduring.

Finances are often a barrier to life-changing education that can pool families from poverty and it doesn't always have to be a bachelor's degree - even basic certification fees can be insurmountable for some.

I vowed to my students to keep this course free until my next paid offering which will be based on the latest editions of the Healthcare Sterile Processing Associations suggested textbook for certification exam prep which means they are currently still Live!

Non-Compete agreements are detrimental to sterile processing professionals ability to work for both hospitals and third-party entities without finding themselves at a crossroads in which they are not allowed to perform the functions of their certification.

This is a step backward for the industry.

Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson has called his agency's rule banning noncompetes unconstitutional. Still, he says protecting workers against noncompetes remains a priority.
