Carbon Hill High School Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members Katie Halbrook and Zoie Lawhorn and Adviser Rebecca Rhodes Franklin represented
Walker County at the national FCCLA Conference in Denver Colorado. Members Katie Halbrook and Zoie Lawhorn placed 1st in the State of Alabama FCCLA Event Management competition with a perfect score of 100. This earned them a bid to Nationals in Denver Colorado July 1-7, 2023. Zoie and Katie presented their Event Management project at the National level and placed 2nd in the nation. They planned and implemented a Valentines party and dance for the exceptional education students at Carbon Hill. This was a once in a lifetime trip for these 2 very deserving students. This event would not have been possible without the help of all the CHHS FCCLA members who helped make decorations, prepare the refreshments, set up the event, and participate in fundraisers to fund the event, just to name a few. Walker County and Carbon Hill could not have ask for better representation at State or Nationals!
We would also like to thank those who donated to make this trip possible!
