Our next Youth Ensemble Course at The Cat and The Fiddle is starting in just a couple of weeks! Beginning on September 14th, Dakota Karper will be leading a series of 6 Old-Time Stringband Groove group classes each Monday from 5 to 6PM through October 19th.

These classes are open to all string instrument students in grades 3-12 and will offer a fun and supportive environment for learning classic old-time tunes and how to play them with a group to achieve the traditional stringband sound. Tuition is $90 per student for the full course. For Karper Creatives Scholarship students, tuition is fully covered.

We want to send a big thanks to everyone who joined us for last Saturday's Capon Bridge Square Dance! The dances and workshop both ended up being a lot of fun, with the local American Legion to thank for the wonderful venue. We look forward to getting together with everyone again at the same location for the next square dance on October 24th!

In this clip, The Rachel Eddy Band performs "Durang's Hornpipe" at a Capon Bridge Square Dance earlier this year. The next square dance will be on August 15th from 6 to 8PM at the Capon Bridge American Legion and will feature live old time music by the William Brauneis Trio.
