Happy Sunny Sunday, Bobcat Families! Here is what is happening this week at CBMS:

MONDAY: Volleyball at Shepherdstown at 6

TUESDAY: Volleyball at home at 6

WEDNESDAY: First home football game at 4

THURSDAY: Cross Country at Frankfort at 4 and Volleyball at home at 6

Also, Marianna Sub orders are due Thursday! All proceeds go towards our PBIS and House system! Delivery date is scheduled for September 16th.

FRIDAY: Volleyball (A team only) at home at 7

Looking ahead:

No school next Monday September 7th for Labor Day and benchmark testing starts September 8th through the 11th!

We will have our annual Back to School Dance on Friday, September 18th from 3:30 to 5. More information will be provided closer to the dance!

There will be no school for students on Wedneaday, September 23rd. This is a professional development day for teachers.

Go ahead and mark your calendars for September 29th at 4:30 for our next PTO and first LSIC meeting of the school year!

Happy Sunday, Bobcat Families! Here is your weekly memo!

Tuesday is fall picture day. Also, PTO will meet at 4:30 pm in the PTO room - all are welcome and encouraged to attend to start planning the new school year!

In the world of sports:
Monday, golf will be at Capon Springs at 4.
Tuesday is fall sports pictures after school.
Wednesday, cross country is home at 4.
Thursday, golf will be at Cacapon State park at 3 and football will start their season away at Pendleton starting at 6!

A few reminders to parents: Emergency Procedure cards MUST be returned tomorrow, Monday! We have to have these in order to update the system and make sure we have accurate contact information for families, as well as other important information! Also, parents will be receiving an email from the RCA website as student information is updated. This email will provide you with a link and access information to your child's House points and House information. You will not receive this information until we have your child's emergency procedure card.

Remember that student arrivals after 8 am are considered tardies and parent pick up for car riders is from 3:25 until 3:40. It is vital that your child come to school every day and start the year with good attendance habits! The school will be watching attendance very closely because we are expected to maintain below a 19% chronic rate. This is one goal that requires ongoing family support and we appreciate your help with meeting this goal the past two years!

Good evening, Bobcat families, this is Principal McCartney with your weekly memo!

We are so excited to see everyone’s faces back at Capon Bridge Middle and welcome our new 6th graders to the Bobcat family!

School starts tomorrow, Thursday, August 20th! Students can be dropped off after 7:15 am
and students will enter through door 18 and go directly to the cafeteria.
The area between the school and the sidewalk is reserved for buses only. Parent drop off and pick up are to pull up to the center sidewalk and students will exit their vehicle and
walk across the sidewalk to enter the school.
Students should be at school prior to 8 am. Arrivals after 8 am are considered tardy. Parent
pickup starts at 3:25, once buses have left the parking lot. Car riders should be picked up
by 3:40.
An important reminder when a student is riding the bus home with another student, both
students must have a note.
Emergency procedure cards will come home as a tri-fold document this year. This document contains all the first day paperwork and should be returned to the school by the
24th at the latest! Students will not be permitted to utilize classroom computers until their trifold is returned!
Expectations and the student handbook will be reviewed with students on the first day. A
QR code to access the student handbook will be provided this year and families are expected to review this with their child as well. This document will answer a lot of
questions that you may have.

The classrooms were already full of learners this week... just not the ones who usually sit in the seats!

Across Hampshire County Schools, our teachers and staff have been back in our schools learning, collaborating, preparing, and getting ready to welcome students back next week.

These pictures from across our county are a great reminder that learning never stops in public schools. Before our students walk through the doors, our educators are working to learn something new, sharpen their skills, share ideas, and make sure they are ready to give our students the very best start to the school year.

Next week, the seats will be filled with students. This week, they were filled with the people preparing to teach, support, encourage, and inspire them.

This is what public education looks like. It is people learning together, working together, and showing up for kids and their community.

We are proud of our schools. We are proud of our people. And we are proud to say:
