Shout out to our students who ALL remembered to wear their belts today!!

Also, the reason we do not use karate uniforms in our karate class is that if kids need to use their martial arts skills in real life, they will most likely be wearing play clothes or school uniforms, so learning how to move in their every day clothing helps.

Hey karate family! Just a reminder next Wednesday November 26 will be our last karate class until next year because the gym is reserved for programs and Christmas. So if you cannot come next week we will see you January 7, 2026.

It is with great sorrow for us to share the news of the death of our daughter Laura Rose Simmons Voss. Laura was our middle child, a founding member of Simmons Family Martial Arts and the Knights of St. Michael. She was one of the brightest lights in our lives.
Visitation at Ford and Sons Funeral Home on Mt Auburn will be held on Monday, July 14, from 4-8, parish prayers and rosary at 7 PM.
Her funeral Mass will be Tuesday, July 15 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Cathedral. Her bereavement dinner will be held following the cemetery rites in St Mary's school gym where many of our family's memories were made with our martial arts classes.
Laura taught hundreds of students with us, her spirit and courage through many trials in her life drove her to want to help others, especially young ladies to be able to take care of themselves and be strong.
We invite all of our karate families to her services but most importantly we ask for your prayers for our family during this very hard time.
