Once again, I want to thank Mayor Dwain Hahs and the Jackson Parks and Recreation Department for allowing us to hold "The 1st Annual SEMotion Independence Day Vault Fest". After a few hick-ups with the River Fest Committee not wanting this to be a part of their 250th Celebration in Cape, the City of Jackson stepped up and made it happen.
We started putting this together about a month and a half out from July 4th and somehow pulled it off. I want to thank Jim Fox, Jeff Brune, Tim Rademaker and all the other RCVC vaulters and their parents who helped make this possible.
It was a great day and the City of Jackson shined as you will see in this video. I think the community got to see things they may have never seen before or may have only seen on TV. It's different seeing it up close, especially when you are watching Elite competitors (four being Olympians) do their thing.

To the athletes, thank you for attending, we had a great time and look forward to seeing you again next year.

So excited to announce this competition, The SEMotion Independence Day Vault Fest” being held at the Jackson (MO) City Park during the celebration of our countries 250th birthday this 4th of July.

We have put together a great field of Elite Men and Women, National Champions and Olympians. 7 men vaulters who have jumped 18’6 or higher with 4 of them having jumped 19’ to 19’5. 4 women vaulters that have jumped 14’6 or higher and one of them having jumped 15’5.

To all Vaulters and Vaulters parents. More often than not, vaulter’s biggest gains are made over the summer.

Our summer group sessions start tomorrow (June 1st).

NOT FOR BEGINNERS.

The jump sessions will be on Mondays and Thursdays from 12:30 -2:30.
We will have 4 week speed camps as well through out the summer and those will occur twice a week, on Tuesdays 6:00-7:30 and Fridays 12:30-2:30.

Coach Jim has put a lot off money and effort into acquiring the best equipment available to help your kids safely increase their speed. Aside from being strong mentally and having courage, speed is the number predictor of success in this sport! Your young vaulters NEED it!

My boy Jagger, his second day ever Pole Vaulting at 11 years old and cleared a measured 5’3!. He has never had a desire to Pole Vault and I have never asked him to, which quietly has killed me! A few weeks ago he told me he’d like to start Pole Vaulting, of course I was screaming on the inside but on the outside I just said cool, what makes you want to do it? He calmly said, well, I’m looking at the signs over there for the kids that have all jumped certain heights and I see you don’t have a 16 footer (at the time) or a 17 footer and I’d like to be the first! Kent Sheridan is now the 1st of our high school 16 footers. Who know’s maybe Jagger can be the first 17 footer!

Let’s get to work son!
