Our first Women’s History Month Spotlight is on Faith Florez, a third-generation Mexican-American and a descendant of agricultural workers. Ms. Florez is only 22 years old and already having a remarkable impact on the world. In an interview she said seeing how how hard the work is and how underappreciated immigrant farmworkers are, she created the “Calor: Heat Safety for Farms” app. This app helps her family members who have struggled with poor conditions as well as current immigrant farmworkers including a large number of children. Women like Florez are advocating for the rights of immigrants and workers in order to make the world more just.
