Just sharing a couple of helpful STEM resources!

TryEngineering, an initiative from IEEE, offers more than 130 hands-on engineering lesson plans for school-aged children. Families can explore lessons, activities, games, videos, and other resources covering a wide variety of STEM topics.

Tinkercad is a free, beginner-friendly website where students can explore 3D design, electronics, and coding. Kids can design objects for 3D printing, experiment with virtual circuits, and practice block-based coding—all within their web browser.

Both are great resources for encouraging kids to design, build, experiment, and think like engineers!

Just sharing a helpful resource again! One of the websites we like for free printable worksheets is K5 Learning.

K5 Learning offers a large collection of worksheets for math, reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, writing, science, cursive, and more. The worksheets cover a range of grade levels and are easy to browse by subject and skill.

It’s a great resource when your child needs a little extra practice—or when you simply need a worksheet for a specific topic!

Homeschool Extras Homeschool Extras provides engaging extracurricular classes for K- 8 homeschool children in Southwest Florida.

We had a few families join us for an afternoon of playing Pokémon TCG!

It was fun watching the kids think ahead, plan their strategies, and figure out the best ways to use their cards—all while having a great time together.

Learning doesn't always happen with a workbook. :)

Meet the Homeschool Extras Team!

When we started Homeschool Extras, we wanted to create the kind of hands-on learning environment we wanted for our own children. As we've grown, we've been incredibly blessed to build a team made up entirely of homeschool moms, homeschool graduates, and current homeschool students.

Serena has been homeschooled for nine years, including all four years of high school. During high school, she also earned her Associate's degree through dual enrollment. She is with us all three class days and loves encouraging and helping our students.

Deanne is a homeschool mom who understands the homeschool journey from a parent's perspective and enjoys helping create a welcoming, encouraging environment for our students.

Char is a current homeschooled high school student who enjoys helping our younger students and is a wonderful part of our team.

Summer is also a current homeschooled high school student who enjoys helping our younger students. It's always encouraging to see older homeschool students serving as positive role models for the next generation.

Together, our team brings firsthand homeschooling experience, a love for children, and a desire to help students learn, create, and grow.

Katie and Ryan are incredibly thankful for each member of our team and the care they show our students every week. We look forward to welcoming new families as we begin another great year at Homeschool Extras!

After a week in South Dakota, we headed to Minnesota to spend time with family.

A wedding, hikes, the zoo, board games, laughter, and plenty of time together—all part of homeschooling, even during summer break.
