This week, in Science, Ms. Slover's class has been learning about the atmosphere and water cycle. They did an experiment by putting a paper towel into water and watching how it evaporates into the paper towel and then when the towel becomes too full they get precipitation. In social studies, they have been talking about buying, selling and trading. Today they got to go shopping in the sensory bins and after choosing their goods, they used paper currency to count out their dollars and had time to play with their purchase. They were happy customers.

Congratulations to our boys' & girls' basketball teams on their wins against Mariner Middle last night. Both teams remain undefeated this season! Thank you to Mariner Middle for hosting these two hard-fought games.

Our next game is here at Caloosa next Wednesday, 9/23. Tickets are $5, cash only, and make sure you bring extra cash for our concessions. Reminder: students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the games. Come out and support your Cougars in their final home games of the season!

Today, students in Mr. Rys' science class were learning about natural selection using beans! In this simulation game, teams of "predators," equipped with genetically different “mouths” (different utensils) hunt for “prey” (assorted beans). Over several “generations” of play, the fittest among the predators and prey dominate the population, modeling the process of natural selection. The students were having a great time while engaged in learning! Well done, Mr. Rys!

Both our boys' and girls' basketball teams were victorious last night and remain undefeated this season! Special shoutout to our opponent, Hector Cafferata Middle School, for their sportsmanship in these games. We're also very proud of our Spirit Squad for their performances and the school spirit that they bring to all of our home games!
