We explore the movement of our body and our breath thru play, dance and stillness. Children will learn independence, self confidence, calmness and teamwork thru games, creative and imaginative play, partner and teamwork, mindful activities, arts & crafts, fun with friends and so much more! Every week is a different theme with things to learn about ourselves and the world around us.

Last month I had the pleasure of teaching Yoga and Mindfulness to kids through the Children's Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida, Inc.

We used Pom poms to show just how powerful our breath is, grew from a tiny seed into balanced trees and mindfully colored affirmations to bring home as reminders of our day together.

Thank you Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. for wanting to bring mindfulness to these kids.

We all enjoyed it so much, I am excited to be able to offer this throughout the school year! 😎🙏🏼😍

Our last tweens class of the summer was a Snowy Animal/Christmas in July Extravaganza! We worked really hard, got super crafty and had so much fun!

Tween yoga is a judgement free, safe place for boys and girls 9-14 to learn body & breath awareness while building community and as always, having tons of fun!

There's 3 Sessions left of Tween Yoga Summer Series!

This is small, supportive and judgement free zone of tweens & teens that learn body & breath awareness, mindfulness and so many life lessons all through movement, games, stories and interacting with each other.

Our class this week is focused on Empathy and our theme is Nature!

In this hour and a half long class, we will incorporate yoga and art into all we do. Pre-register on our website using the east link in our bio.

Tweens and Teens will Soar into Outer Space in this weeks Tweens Yoga Class! ⁠


Tween Yoga is great for boys and girls ages 9-14 years old. We move through poses, practice breathing techniques, have mat chats and get creative each week!⁠

Tween Yoga is a non-judgmental, safe and fun space for tweens and teens to grow and learn about themselves through movement and breath.⁠

⁠Classes are Wednesdays 2:pm - 3:30 pm ⁠in July.⁠

Wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle, yoga mat and any other props you'd like for comfort. ⁠

Class is limited so be sure to pre-register. ⁠

Life’s a Beach in Tween Yoga! 🏖🐚 🏝

We focused and centered ourselves with ocean breath, surfed the waves in warrior 2, relaxed in a guided beach meditation and made these beautiful mandalas.

Have I said how unbelievably happy I am to be teaching in person again. My heart is so full ✨💗✨

Wednesdays are for the Tweens!! Week 2 of our 6 week series is here!

We’re beaching’ it this week with challenging moves, deep breaths and inspiring mandalas made from sea glass and seashells.

Pranayama is an ancient yogic practice of controlling our breath. You purposely inhale and exhale in specific patterns. Simply put, you breathe on purpose. We began talking about breath awareness and how amazing our body is to know to breathe, but then how we can control our breath to be fast or slow, long or short, depending on the situation we are in.

Before I introduced the pom poms, we practiced Sama Vritti, which translates from Sanskrit to ‘same breath’ or I like to say even breath. We closed our eyes, lengthened our spine and began to intentionally breathe. First we inhaled for a count of 3, then exhaled for a count of 3. Then extended our count to 4, and even getting to an even, slow and steady breath count of 5, in and out through the nose.

We then played with extending our exhale so we would breathe in for a count of 3 but try to breathe out for a count of 4 or 5. The kids noticed how much calmer they felt almost instantly, and I saw the grounding taking place right before my very eyes.

We ‘played’ with pranayama for almost a half hour! The kids made a tunnel out of a paper plate and tried to see how many pom poms they could blow through the tunnel! After some time, I introduced the paper straw and that changed EVERYTHING! Ms. Shanna, now I can control my breath AND make it go where I want it to! What I thought would be 5 minutes of fun turned into almost half our class! The best part is the kids all explored their own breath in different ways and learned so much about themselves and all the while they continued to learn from each other.

Pranayama is so beneficial for people of all ages.
When practiced daily, it can help:
✨decrease stress
✨increase mindfulness
✨improve your quality of sleep
✨strengthens your lungs
It even helps your brain function better!

I can’t wait for all the fun and learning in next weeks class!
