Ida Baker JROTC

Congratulations to Area Commander Elly Young on her appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point! We are proud of how she has represented the Ida S. Baker JROTC program as our Battalion Commander.

Ida S. Baker High’s Elly Young has letters of assurance from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and has received acceptance to the United States Naval Academy and the United States Air Force Academy.

After careful consideration, Elly has committed to West Point. She will receive the AICE Diploma and has been offered three National ROTC scholarships valuing $150,000.

She has the high honor of JROTC District Area Commander, the Ida Baker Battalion Commander, and is the IHBS Raiders Commander and Team Captain. Elly is also serving as the Student Government Association Historian and is a Liaison Officer for the National Honor Society.

Our annual Change Of Command Ceremony is coming up. Make sure to inform your Cadets. Parents are invited to attend this special event!
