CAPAC ELEMENTARY:

Calling all dads and father figures!
Watch D.O.G.S Launch Party, Thursday, September 10th, 2026, from 5:30 PM-6:30 PM in the Elementary Cafeteria.

Watch D.O.G.S. is one of the nation’s largest and most respected school-based family and community engagement programs. It brings fathers and father figures into schools to serve as positive role models and support students and staff throughout the school day:

OUR WATCH D.O.G.S. WILL HELP US:
-Provide positive male role models
-Show students that education and school involvement matter
-Provide extra sets of eyes and ears throughout the building
-Encourage positive student interactions
-Help create a welcoming, supportive, and safe school environment

Whether helping in classrooms, interacting with students, assisting during lunch and recess, or simply being a positive presence, our Watch D.O.G.S. can make a BIG IMPACT!

☀️ A BIG Thank You to PEAK! 💙💛

Capac Elementary would like to send a huge THANK YOU to our amazing PEAK group for purchasing a brand-new sunshade for our elementary playground!

This addition will provide our students with a much-needed shady spot to cool off, take a break, and enjoy time outside throughout the school year. We are incredibly grateful for PEAK’s continued support and everything they do to make Capac Elementary an even better place for our kids!

A special thank you to Tim Lewis for taking the time to get the sunshade up and installed before the first day of school! We truly appreciate you helping us get everything ready for our students.

We are so fortunate to have a school community that continues to show up for our kids! 💙💛

News Release - 26 Officers Graduate from TEAM School Liaison Program

Michigan students will benefit from the addition of 26 law enforcement officers recently trained in the Teaching, Educating, and Mentoring (TEAM) School Liaison Program. The Michigan State Police (MSP), Grants and Community Services Division hosted the five-day training, which concluded Friday, August 14, 2026.

TEAM is a school-based, law-related curriculum taught to grades K-12 by TEAM-trained police officers with the goal of uniting educators, students, and law enforcement officers to help children protect themselves from crime. During the 40-hour training course, officers receive instruction in student/juvenile psychology, classroom management, and public speaking.

In addition to traditional topics like personal safety, how to dial 911, the law and you, and dating violence, the TEAM curriculum has been updated to address the topic of school safety and security including facility assessments, bullying and harassment, cyber-crime, social media use, illicit drugs, and va**ng.
