Greetings,

This is the perfect time to join the American Marketing Association (AMA) as a student member!

We are excited to invite you to the AMA Welcome Meeting on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 12:20–1:00 p.m. in CC 219. All students and all majors are welcome! Come join us at our first meeting of the academic year to learn more about AMA, meet other students, and explore opportunities to get involved. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.

AMA Officer Opportunities

If you would like to develop and strengthen your leadership, communication, teamwork, and professional skills, consider serving as an AMA officer. We currently have 10 officer positions open for nominations for the 2026–2027 academic year, including:

President • Vice President • VP of Finance • VP of Membership • VP of Fundraising • VP of Communications • VP of Social Media • VP of Marketing • VP of Community Engagement • VP of Professional Development

If you are interested in an officer position, please send Dr. Turkan Kilic at [email protected] a short statement of interest by September 25, 2026. Your statement should be approximately one paragraph explaining why you would like to be considered for the position. You are welcome to apply for more than one position.

Please attend the Welcome Meeting to learn more about the available officer positions. Serving as an AMA officer is a great opportunity to gain leadership experience and strengthen your resume.

The West Texas A&M University chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) will host a professional seminar titled The Ads You Actually Notice (Yes—Like Domino’s & Mike’s Hard Lemonade) featuring Sally Kubancik and Morgan Collins, Group Account & Strategy Directors at Work In Progress, an award winning advertising agency based in Boulder, Colorado.

The speakers will share insights from leading campaigns for major brands such as Domino’s, Sling TV, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, and Jimmy John’s, and discuss what it takes to create advertising that stands out in today’s industry.

The event is open to all students and is designed for those interested in marketing, advertising, branding, and creative strategy. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from industry professionals and participate in a Q&A session.
