From welcoming students at the doors to filling our classrooms and hallways once again, there was plenty of excitement across Canyon ISD as we kicked off the 2026-2027 school year!

Today was just the beginning. We can’t wait to see the incredible things our students and staff will accomplish together this year.

We’re so thankful for the strong relationships we have with our local law enforcement partners! Thank you for supporting our students and helping to keep our campuses safe. We appreciate all you do for Canyon ISD and our community!

Our seven School Resource Officers are here and ready to have a great school year with Canyon ISD starting Wednesday, August 19! We will introduce each officer and their school on the first day, including parent and safety tips for the upcoming year. 🍎 🚔

We’re ready for another great year in Canyon ISD! Convocation 2026 brought our incredible teachers and staff together to reconnect, refocus, and kick off the 2026–27 school year with energy and excitement.

Every member of our staff plays a role in empowering lifelong success for our students, and we are incredibly grateful for the dedication, energy, and commitment they bring to CISD each day.

A special thank you to Hillside Christian Church for generously allowing us to use their facility for Convocation, and to all of our generous sponsors who helped make this event possible. Your support is truly appreciated!

Today, we celebrated our newest team members at our New Employee Luncheon, and it was a great way to kick off the year! 🐾

A huge thank-you to First United Bank for providing and serving lunch for our new staff. We are so grateful for their generous support in making everyone feel welcome. We also appreciate City of Canyon, TX Mayor Gary Hinders and City of Amarillo, Texas Mayor Cole Stanley for joining us and sharing words of encouragement.
