WTAMU Ranch Horse Team

The official Ranch Horse Team of West Texas A&M University 🦬 Go Buffs 🦬 Canyon, Tx We travel across the state of Texas, into Oklahoma, and even Colorado.

The WTAMU Ranch Horse Team strives to improve their own riding skills and then the skills of their horses. The competitions we compete in are SHOT or ASHA sanctioned events and include: Working Cow, Ranch Pleasure, Trail, and Reining.

It’s been a busy summer for our team members! Lots of time in the saddle, vacation, having a blast making great memories. Now it’s time to get back to the classroom and get practice started! Go buffs!

Please join us in welcoming Hanna Bedard from Okotoks, Alberta!

Hanna has been riding her entire life and has been competing in cow horse for the past six years. She will be showing, Stylish Rascal, better known as Tim, and loves that showing always offers an opportunity to learn and improve.

When she’s not in the arena, Hanna enjoys dirt biking, snowmobiling, and creating beautiful leatherwork.

We’re excited to have Hanna and Tim as part of the WT RHT family. Welcome—we’re glad you’re here!

As the AQHA VRH World Show week comes to a close, we want to wish everyone safe travels home and congratulate all of the exhibitors on a fantastic week of competition!

If you’re still at the show, don’t forget to stop by and visit with Dr. Baker or assistant coach Sidney Dunkel, who has been keeping busy scribing throughout the week. We’d also like to recognize Kaylea Marionneaux for serving as a Members Program Intern for AQHA and Grace Hyde as an A Bar Ranch Intern. We’re proud to see these young professionals representing the future of our industry!

The school year may be over, but the summer run has officially begun for our current and incoming members!

Several of our team members competed at The Gathering (SHTX) show this week and had a very successful week in and out of the arena. We are proud of the hard work, growth, and representation these riders continue to show.

BACK-TO-BACK NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!

The WT Ranch Horse Team earns back to back National Intercollegiate Ranch & Stock Horse Association Div1 Collegiate Championship. The hard work, long hours, and dedication from each team member truly paid off!

It was a fantastic week of competition, with WT sweeping championships in all three divisions.
