We have some amazing EMA students who will be graduating this December. We will be spotlighting them as we near graduation. To kick off our Fall 2024 graduate spotlight today we are featuring Joel Chapa, III.
“My name is Joel Chapa III. I was born in Brownsville, Texas and currently reside in the Rio Grande Valley. In 2022, I married my wife, Diana, and in 2023 we were blessed with our son, Joel. I have had the pleasure to serve in various leadership roles of Emergency Medical Services, emergency management, private security, personal protection, investigations, and as an EMS educator within the last 12 years of my career. I chose the Emergency Management Administration Program at WTAMU for my undergraduate studies because it combines the skills and expertise I have obtained and blends it into one comprehensive degree that incorporates my passions in public service, while simultaneously furthering my education. Upon graduation, my intention is to continue my education and pursue Law/Legal studies.
The WT EMA program and its faculty have made significant contributions to my continued successes with their exceptional knowledge and expertise. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to learn from the best of the field. Professor Melissa Henderson, Dr. Justin Moeller, and Dr. Ming Xie., thank you!
I want to thank my wife Diana for being a strong foundation of support and amazing mother while pursuing my studies. My parents Joel & Elizabeth Chapa who have been the strongest positive influences in my life, my son Joel, my sisters Leticia Chapa and Lizette Chapa, and my friends who have continuously encouraged and motivated me in being successful."
Congratulations Joel! We are very proud of you and wish you continued success as you pursue a post graduate degree in the law field. Please join us in congratulating Joel on a job well done! Go Buffs!
