Our Peter and the Wolf performances with the Canton Symphony Orchestra this week were an absolute hit!

First choreographed for Canton Ballet in 1966 and reimagined in 1978 for school audiences, Peter and the Wolf has introduced generations of Stark County children to live music and ballet for over 45 years.

For , check out this photo from earlier this week featuring Breck Maddox Johnson as the Wolf 🐺, followed by archival news clippings from the early days of the production!

These clippings were featured in our Alumni Newsletter earlier this year — you can read the full issue here: https://tinyurl.com/4y8h3ncu

🧡

Mrs. Marucci’s 4th graders had the wonderful opportunity to watch the Canton Ballet and Canton Symphony Orchestra perform Peter and the Wolf. 🩰🎻

The highlight? They spotted a familiar face on stage! One of their classmate’s siblings, Lena, a Hoover sophomore, danced the role of the Duck with the ballet! 🐤

There is something special about seeing a fellow Viking take the stage! 🧡🖤

We can't wait to return to Steubenville Nutcracker Village this year — November 28!

“What’s your biggest nutcracker?”

The Mouse King! A most memorable character from the Nutcracker Ballet, he is sometimes depicted with multiple heads, and very wicked. The intimidation factor for our Mouse King is that he’s 12’ tall!

If you love The Nutcracker Ballet as much as we do, be sure to grab tickets for Canton Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker in Steubenville on November 28, 2026!
