Each day, our scholars will participate in a special activity designed to encourage positive connections—from “Hey Day” and our Post-it Hello Wall to Green Out, Thankful Thursday, and Fist Bump Friday! 🇪🇸 ¡LA SEMANA DEL “HOLA” YA ESTÁ AQUÍ EN CANTON ELEMENTARY! 🇪🇸

🌟 Collaboration in Action at Canton Elementary School! 🌟

Our students had an exciting opportunity to combine literacy, social-emotional learning, and STEM through a collaborative lesson with our Librarian, Ms. L. Smith, and STEM teacher, Ms. T. Hardy!

📚 ELA/Library Connection: Students practiced speaking and listening skills while learning more about themselves and their classmates. Through guided prompts, they shared information about their interests, families, backgrounds, friendships, communities, and what makes each of them unique. This activity encouraged students to express their ideas clearly, listen respectfully to others, and build stronger connections through meaningful conversation.

🤖 STEM Connection: Students brought those conversations to life using the Photon Robot! They practiced basic coding and programming skills by navigating the robot to different colored spaces. Each color represented a different discussion prompt, allowing students to combine problem-solving, technology, and communication in one hands-on experience.

This collaboration showed our students that reading, communication, technology, and STEM can all work together! We love creating engaging learning experiences that allow our Canton Elementary Tigers to learn about themselves, learn from one another, and build new skills along the way. 🐯💙💛

Great things happen when we collaborate across content areas!
