Beginning August 31, while the library is closed, we are partnering with Redeemer Baptist Church to offer a safe space for kids to go to after school if they need to wait for a ride, or to wait between the end of the school day and a school event.

Interested parents/caregivers must fill out a form at www.rbccanton/afterschool. The form also includes all policies.

The church is directly across from the school at 307 Madison St. (Former daycare) and will be staffed by Library staff and church volunteers. Hours are Monday - Friday after school to 5:30 PM, and do not include early release or no-school days.

No specific activities are planned , but there will be games, LEGOs, STEAM-to-Go! Kits, and other self-guided activities. Also it's a great time to work on homework!

Who knew an empty library could be this much fun?

And we WILL be open next week for printing, copying, faxing, newspaper reading, tech help, preparing walls for painting, and wheelies.

Thanks, Dr. Alissa Burger and her Culver-Stockton College WSL class for helping us load up more library furniture and shelving pieces, shred paper, and clean windows! It was another great EDM Day!

We are honored to be the recipient of a Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri Community Grant!

The award for our project, titled Safe Spaces - Upgrading Library Spaces for Children and Teens, will help us provide new age-specific and appropriate furnishings for the kids and teens who visit the library! Watch for these new improvements as an extra enhancement to our big renovation!

It's getting real, people! A huge thank you to the folks at Nationwide Transport for donating the use of two trailers to store our precious books!

This trailer will be filled tomorrow morning, mostly with books, and hauled away. A second trailer will take its place for Saturday, to be filled with other library items!

Yes, we are still open...for printing, copying, faxing, reference, checking out a few books, etc. Stop by and see us!
