🌈🍎🚀 What a fun week at Olive Tree Academy! 📚✨
This week was full of learning, hands-on activities, creativity, and fun across all of our classrooms! 🥰
Our Pre-K classes had a fun week learning about the letter R through rainbows, rockets, race cars, rabbits, sensory bins, play dough, and more! 🌈🚀🏎️🐇 They practiced fine motor skills, counting, shapes, colors, taking turns, listening, and working together. We also reviewed S and M and learned how letters work together to make words! 🔤❤️
Our Kindergarteners learned all about Johnny Appleseed and apples through stories and hands-on activities. 🍎 They also were introduced to chess while practicing taking turns, following rules, and beginning strategies. ♟️ They worked on fine motor skills through cutting and other activities, too! ✂️
Our 1st and 2nd graders worked on representing numbers to 20 and place value. 🔢 Together, they read The Bad Seed and learned about story characters and what makes something a character. They also practiced writing CVC words independently, creating sentences, and taking turns. 📖✏️
Our 3rd and 4th graders practiced multiplication facts, complete sentences, capitalization, and correcting sentence fragments. They also learned about Texas symbols, created them with Play-Doh, and made clay pots in art! 🤠🌵🏺
Our 5th through 7th graders worked on volume, area, fractions, and rigid transformations in math. 📐 They continued reading Restart, analyzing characters and making predictions using text evidence. They also wrapped up their states of matter unit with a lab and test, learned about U.S. regions, created presentations, and made clay water cups in art! 🧪🇺🇸🎨
From letters and numbers to reading, writing, math, science, social studies, art, sensory play, and chess, there was A LOT happening at Olive Tree this week! 🌳💚
We are so proud of our students and all the learning, growing, creating, and exploring happening in our classrooms!
