For our fibers unit last spring, our grade 3 & 4 students did some cardboard loom weaving, and really knocked it out of the park! 🪡🧶🐑 This coming year, both grades will weave again, but this time "in circles" (literally).

One of our last projects for Kindergarten last May was creating 3-dimensional sculptures with Styrofoam, chenille stems, beads and buttons! It's always a crowd favorite (mine too).

Comic book covers (Japanese Chibi Style) by some of our 3rd & 4th graders at Middlebranch last spring! I just realized the photos of their work were still on my phone and hadn't been shared yet!

I love this tradition! On Thursday, GlenOak's graduating seniors stopped by all of the schools in Plain Local Schools for a special "clap out." Mr. Hamilton Middlebranch-Avondale PE even led them through parachute games! 🎓🦅🎉

Miss Ferguson's Grade 2 students at Avondale made rotational symmetry weavings in art class. We glued wooden spoons donated by the cafeteria to poster board circles to make the looms! After weaving, students brainstormed four ideas for the loom center, and then added their favorite one.🧶

K&1 students recently created a variety of animals (and some people) using scraps of scrapbook paper donated by community members and families. We first read the book, "Ten Little Rabbits" and looked at the illustrations of rabbits wrapped in cozy blankets, then we made our own rabbits (and other critters).

We're wrapping up our Kindergarten pinch pots, just in time for Mother's Day! The students did such fantastic work. They created their pots from start to finish (raw clay to a glazed ceramic piece)!

Students in the 3rd grade have been making glazed ceramic letter pieces with texture, using specialized clay rollers, stamps and a variety of found materials.

The fourth grade ceramic monsters and aliens project is currently underway!
